SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEERWe are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team in New York. This role has a salary range of $170,000 - $250,000. You will work to lead key business initiatives, improve existing architecture and services, and design large-scale data-intensive applications. The ideal candidate should have a background in backend development and experience working with cloud-hosted services. This person should also be a motivated self-starter who is able to feel at ease working in a fast-paced environment.
WHAT TO EXPECT:- Owning the end-to-end delivery of key business initiatives from product discovery, to system design, and all the way to feature launch
- Architecting and evolving core distributed services for reliability, scalability, and performance
- Designing and delivering large-scale data-intensive applications with cutting edge techniques in:
- Real-time transaction decisioning
- Stream-processing
- Machine learning
- Evolving org-wide engineering standards for architecture, testing, and monitoring practices and documentation
- Mentoring engineers through code and architecture reviews, raising the technical bar of the team
- Partnering with product, data and business stakeholders to shape technical direction and product roadmap
ABOUT YOU:- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with backend experience using a JVM language, preferably Java
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design, and multi-threaded programming
- Experience with cloud-hosted services, like AWS or GCP
- Proficiency in both RDBMS and NoSQL databases
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
