Sr. Software EngineerSummaryBroadridge is seeking a Software Engineer to partner across functions to oversee the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of new software and enhancements to existing software of moderate complexity for bespoke CQG applications. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with software development team leadership, business partnership, project planning, and quality assurance to deliver secure, reliable, and effective software solutions.
Responsibilities- Manage a team of software developers in their day-to-day responsibilities, including training, mentoring junior engineers, and providing guidance to cross-functional team members.
- Analyze business needs and develop customized software solutions for business segments, ensuring alignment across system architectures.
- Translate business requirements into discrete tasks, assign work to appropriate software engineers, and develop work plans within a lean, agile environment.
- Create and review development tickets, identify the steps required to complete assignments, and allocate work based on team skills and priorities.
- Lead daily planning sessions, retrospectives, and other required agile ceremonies to plan, track, and document development activities.
- Review developers' work and support performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
- Establish and implement development standards, policies, and procedures to ensure the quality, security, effectiveness, and integrity of software deliverables.
- Review coding practices, software architecture, testing, and integration of new software into existing systems.
- Partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to design and architect solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
- Coordinate with internal and external business teams and IT groups to manage dependencies, align deliverables, and meet client expectations.
- Take accountability for completing assignments, making clear commitments, and delivering results within agreed timelines.
- Estimate task completion timelines, monitor progress, and ensure work is completed within established estimates.
- Research emerging technologies and provide technical assessments of their potential integration into CQG systems.
- Support business users by responding to questions, researching requests, troubleshooting issues, and helping resolve problems.
Compensation and BenefitsSalary Range: $130,000 -$140,000 USD annually
