About the Role:Remitly's Authentication Team builds secure, scalable, and user-friendly authentication systems at the core of Remitly's mission. You will become a product expert and have the opportunity to influence key decisions that shape the charters you work in. You'll collaborate with engineers, product managers, and compliance experts to deliver solutions that keep customers safe, meet regulatory requirements, and empower people to trust Remitly as their preferred financial platform. You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager in Vancouver.
You Will:- Build and maintain authentication features and services, ensuring reliability, security, and exceptional user experience.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and design teams to define and deliver technical solutions from concept through launch and support.
- Develop and improve mobile and web authentication flows, driving high standards of quality, maintainability, and observability.
- Contribute to the team's technical strategy, code reviews, and ongoing process improvements.
- Champion Remitly's values by fostering inclusion, mentoring peers, and elevating engineering practices.
- Proactively identify opportunities to strengthen account protection, prevent fraud, and streamline identity verification for customers.
You Have:- A BS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
- 8+ years of experience in backend and/or frontend technologies (e.g., Node.js, Java, Go, TypeScript, React), with a strong foundation in modern authentication protocols and security best practices.
- Experience collaborating with product, engineering, and compliance partners to deliver high-impact solutions.
- The ability to deliver high-quality, well-tested code, and a track record of solving challenging problems with thoughtful trade-offs.
Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is $152,000 - $190,000. In Canada, Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
