About the Role:

The IHUB team is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to join Remitly and drive the scaling of our funding and disbursement processing across our vast operational regions while collaborating with teams across the company. In this role, you will own the delivery of features that expand our pay-in and pay-out networks globally, leading work against a backlog designed to expand our Global Network that powers all of Remitly's product offerings in creative ways. You'll work in an AI-forward engineering culture: we expect engineers to use AI tools across coding, testing, debugging, and documentation to move faster while managing the correctness of everything they ship.

You Will:

• Own the design and delivery of new partner integrations for our pay-in and pay-out networks, with the possibility of working with partners that support money movements for over 170 countries and growing
• Use AI-assisted development to accelerate delivery, factoring it into your estimates and verifying AI-generated output meets the team's bar for correctness, security, and maintainability
• Deliver well-tested, observable, documented, efficient, scalable, and resilient solutions.
• Own the operational health of your services, including on-call, SLOs, and incident response
• Interview candidates and mentor new hires through code review and ramp-up.
• Drive task breakdown, estimates, and tradeoff discussions in partnership with PM
• Partner with Operations team members across the globe to provide technical recommendations to customer-facing problems
• Work with partners around the globe and be a representative of the company and our engineering team to our global partners
• Be the go-to expert with tools, programming languages, and engineering processes used within the team in a scalable cloud-based architecture
• Write technical specifications and lead design reviews
• Promote best practices and push for technical excellence across the company
• Partner with your manager to shape the technical direction and roadmap

You Have:

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience
• 6+ years of building, shipping, and maintaining consumer software products
• 2+ years working with services deployed on a commercial cloud provider like AWS
• 1+ year leading features with multiple engineers
• Experience using AI tools to accelerate code construction, testing, and documentation in a production environment
• General experience migrating legacy services into modernized architecture
• Expertise in Java, GoLang, or other general purposes languages
• Expertise in working with large-scale database systems like MySQL, DynamoDB
• Expertise in working with monitoring systems such as Prometheus and VictoriaMetrics
• Experience in technical architecture and system design decisions
• Clear and objective writing and in-person communication
• A desire for learning new technologies and systems
• Payments/Fintech experience - added bonus!

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $180,000-$225,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
