Job Summary
Benchmark Insurance Group is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to design and build scalable, high-performance applications that support our growing insurance brokerage operations. This role is ideal for a developer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving complex technical challenges while contributing to business-critical systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications
- Collaborate with product, operations, and leadership teams to deliver solutions
- Lead technical design and architecture decisions
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
- Review code and mentor junior developers
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems
- Build and integrate APIs and third-party services
- Ensure application performance, security, and scalability
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Strong experience with at least one of the following: C#, Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience with modern frameworks (e.g., .NET, React, Angular, Node.js)
- Knowledge of REST APIs, microservices architecture, and system design
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Proficiency with SQL or NoSQL databases
- Experience using Git and CI/CD pipelines
Preferred:
- Experience in insurance, fintech, or financial services
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or DevOps practices
- Experience with enterprise system integrations
