Senior Site Civil BIM Designer

HDR is looking for a Senior Site Civil BIM Designer to join our Building Engineering Services team in Mobile. In the role of Senior Site Civil BIM Designer, we'll count on you to: • Work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and a multi-discipline design team on a daily basis. • Support the design and production of site civil construction documents related to Federal, Power, Architectural, Water/Wastewater, and Industrial Clients. • Model and draft site civil design improvements in Civil 3D including, but not limited to, site survey, site layout, grading, drainage, storm water management systems, roadway, erosion and sediment control, landscaping, and site utilities. • Model both gravity and pressure pipe networks. • Support the development of construction drawings in Civil 3D to ensure that the files and plans adhere to HDR and/or client CAD standards. • Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, & diagrams of the design within the project scope, schedule, and budget, using the current 3D software • Demonstrate an understanding of site civil design concepts including earthwork, surfaces, site grading, pipe networks, etc. • Coordinate the design with other discipline models through Design Reviews and the 3D Coordination process. • Maintain an attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture. • Perform other duties as needed. Preferred Qualifications • Understanding of site civil design concepts, industry standards and practice • Autodesk Civil 3D certification • Navisworks, MicroStation and OpenRoads experience is welcome, preference will be given to local candidate • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must *LI-SM1 Qualifications Required Qualifications • Technical degree or a combination of education and related industry experience • A minimum of 5 years related industry experience • Advanced skillset of 3D design software and document management infrastructure • Advanced skillset of 3D Coordination tool • Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools • Advanced understanding of engineering or architectural concepts • Knowledge of industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specifications • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and organizational traits are essential
