Full Job Description
ROLE
The Senior Scheduler, Infrastructure is responsible for the review of multiple schedules supporting our Infrastructure group. The position aids in the planning, development and coordination of both proposal and project schedules including tracking issues, analysing data and providing reports to key stakeholders and clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work in collaboration with Estimating Team and with the assigned Project Team to prepare construction and front-end planning schedules, that are fully resource loaded as part of the estimating and proposals team.
  • Consult the appropriate project team members and follow estimating procedures as a means of ensuring that proper planning is completed prior to the commencement of work.
  • Review and update complex project schedules across the infrastructure business.
  • Review, monitor, evaluate and report on a weekly basis - or whenever required - to the Project Management Team(s) on progress of work and any problems that affect the planned schedule.
  • Identifies and reports potential project schedule delays and facilitates intervention in a timely manner. Evaluate actual construction progress and provide regular schedule updates.
  • Exercise judgement in the selection, classification, compilation and analysis of data obtained from a variety of sources.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as required, including Project Management Team(s) and Commercial Director, regarding scheduling activities, impacts to work progress, and resolution of potential issues.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Operational Staff, including Project Managers, Construction Managers, Superintendents, Commercial and Project Controls Leads, and other key stakeholders to support effective schedule development, coordination, and project delivery.
  • Serve as technical advisor to Project Schedulers and provide solutions to difficult production problems.
  • Maintain the Infrastructure P6 database and identify, record and report on the impact of work performed against current baselines.
  • Responsible for production of proposal stage resource histograms in liaison with the responsible estimator.
  • Report on the impacts of resource assignments to SMJVs programme of work.
  • Ensure the maintenance and timely issue of all other schedule records and reports.
  • Perform schedule integrity audits across the SMJV facilities programme of work and ensure corrective actions where required.
  • Ensure proposal and project schedules are produced and maintained in line with company schedule standards.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
  • Engineering or Construction Management Degree, or graduate of an applicable technical diploma program, and/or combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience
  • 8 - 10 years of experience in a project planning role, preferably in the oil and gas facilities construction industry.
  • Hands-on experience using Primavera (P6).
  • Experience with EVM (Earned Value Management).
Skills and Knowledge
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills (oral, written and interpersonal).
  • Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service, build strong relationships, and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve results and deliver value.

  • Ability to use judgment and critical thinking skills when faced with ambiguous situations.
  • Proven ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • High proficiency with analytical tools, particularly spreadsheets and application software.
  • Effective change management skills.
  • Advanced practical knowledge of the application of Primavera (P6) capabilities.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is office based at our Spruce Grove office with a 5-day work week, 8-hour days . Occasional deployment to project sites will be required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Senior Scheduler, Infrastructure reports to:
  • Functionally, to the Senior Scheduling Manager.
  • Operational reporting is to the Head of Estimating & Proposals or the Vice President of Operations, Infrastructure as appropriate to the schedule in question.
