Job Overview:As a Senior ROCC Operator at Primoris Services Corporation, you will be responsible for the real-time monitoring and control of various utility systems, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operations. You will act as a primary point of contact for operational incidents and contribute to the continuous improvement of control room procedures.
Job Responsibilities:**
* Monitor and operate complex Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and other control room tools to maintain optimal performance of utility infrastructure (e.g., gas pipelines, electrical grids, water systems, as applicable to Primoris' projects).
* Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, abnormal conditions, and emergencies, initiating appropriate protocols and coordinating with field personnel and emergency services.
* Analyze operational data, trends, and system performance to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions or preventative measures.
* Develop, review, and implement operational procedures, emergency response plans, and safety protocols in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
* Provide guidance and training to junior ROCC Operators, fostering a high-performance and safety-conscious work environment.
* Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all operational activities, incidents, and communications.
* Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and project teams to support system upgrades, testing, and commissioning activities.
* Participate in root cause analysis of operational incidents and contribute to the development of solutions to prevent recurrence.
* Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
* Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external agencies during normal operations and emergency situations.
Job Qualifications:**
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in a control room or operational dispatch environment, preferably within the utilities, oil & gas, or energy sector.
* Proven expertise in operating and troubleshooting SCADA systems and other industrial control software.
* Strong understanding of operational processes, safety procedures, and emergency response protocols relevant to utility infrastructure.
* Ability to make critical decisions under pressure in fast-paced and high-stress situations.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely.
* Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by 24/7 operational demands.
* Relevant industry certifications or licenses (e.g., NERC Reliability Coordinator, Gas Controller Certification) are highly desirable.
* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Electronics, Process Control) or equivalent work experience.
