As a Senior Robotics Engineer, you9ll program and integrate the ABB and Fanuc robots that assemble our satellites. You9ll own robotic cells end-to-end - from path planning and EOAT integration to commissioning and cycle-time optimization - and serve as the dedicated robotics owner the team needs as we scale. This is a hands-on role for someone who has deployed industrial robots in production and wants to build a robotics function from a strong foundation. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering leadership team.
What you9ll be doing:- Program, simulate, and deploy ABB and Fanuc robots for assembly, pick-and-place, and material-handling applications.
- Own robotic cells from concept through commissioning, including path planning, EOAT integration, and safety.
- Optimize cycle time, reliability, and throughput of production robotic cells.
- Integrate robots with Beckhoff controls, vision systems, sensors, and end-of-arm tooling.
- Develop and maintain robot programs, frames, and tooling calibrations.
- Lead on-floor commissioning, troubleshooting, and handover of production cells.
- Mentor junior robotics engineers and set programming standards.
What you will bring to this role:- 5+ years programming and integrating industrial robots in production - ABB and/or Fanuc.
- Hands-on experience with robot cell design, EOAT integration, and commissioning.
- Familiarity with machine vision, sensors, pneumatics, and safety systems.
- Understanding of how robotics integrate with PLC/motion control (Beckhoff a plus).
- Strong troubleshooting skills on live production equipment.
- BS in Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent.
Extra points for the following:- Both ABB and Fanuc programming experience.
- Offline programming / simulation (RobotStudio, Roboguide).
- Machine-vision and force-control integration.
- Aerospace, PV/solar, or thin-film manufacturing background.
