Senior Revenue Cycle Business Analyst & Team Lead

If you're an experienced revenue cycle professional who wants to do more than analyze reports, this is your opportunity to lead meaningful change. At Aegis, you'll turn complex data into practical improvements, strengthen reimbursement outcomes, and guide a team dedicated to building a more efficient, compliant, and effective revenue cycle operation.

Role Overview

As the Senior Revenue Cycle Business Analyst & Team Lead, you will analyze and optimize financial processes across patient registration, coding, billing, denials, collections, and payer resolution. You will identify trends, translate findings into actionable strategies, and supervise Revenue Cycle Specialists and Business Analysts as they improve workflows, appeals, reporting, and reimbursement outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze denied claims, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions that reduce repeat denials and improve reimbursement.
  • Review medical codes, billing information, payer policies, testing protocols, and internal documentation to support accurate, compliant claim decisions and effective appeal strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and coding standards, including HIPAA, ICD-10, and applicable state and federal requirements.
  • Analyze revenue cycle data-including patient demographics, insurance verification, claim submissions, denial trends, and payment history-to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop and communicate key performance indicators such as days sales outstanding, denial rates, clean claim submission rates, and collection efficiency.
  • Partner with payers and internal teams across managed care, clinical, legal, billing, and other functions to resolve outstanding claims and complex issues.
  • Design and implement workflow changes, training programs, system updates, and process controls that improve revenue cycle efficiency and performance.
  • Supervise Revenue Cycle Specialists and Business Analysts through work planning, coaching, feedback, cross-training, performance development, and review of deliverables.
  • Translate complex findings into clear summaries and actionable next steps that align stakeholders and maintain momentum on strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; a degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Healthcare revenue cycle experience, including denials management, through one of the following pathways: at least 10 years with a high school diploma or GED; at least 7 years with a bachelor's degree; or at least 5 years with a master's degree.
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield, third-party payer processes, and applicable reimbursement requirements.
  • Experience using reporting tools and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking to reimbursement and denial analysis and turn complex information into practical recommendations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to coach team members and collaborate effectively across functions.

Work Environment
