In this role, you'll make an impact by:

As a Sr. Retirement Plan Administrator Consultant, you will serve as the primary point of contact for Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) and 3(16) fiduciary partners, helping to ensure seamless administration and compliance for retirement plans. You will act as a trusted resource and strategic partner, providing expertise on retirement plan operations, regulatory requirements, testing methodologies, and plan correction solutions.

You will collaborate closely with internal teams, TPAs, advisors, and fiduciary partners to resolve operational challenges, maintain compliance standards, and improve the overall partner experience. Through effective relationship management and technical expertise, you'll play a key role in helping clients and partners navigate the complexities of retirement plan administration.

Here's what you can expect on a typical day:

Partner Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary liaison between ADP, assigned TPAs, and 3(16) fiduciary partners.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide timely consultation and support regarding plan administration, compliance requirements, operational issues, and product-related inquiries.
  • Escalate and resolve partner concerns while ensuring a positive service experience.

Retirement Plan Administration & Compliance
  • Support plan administration activities by coordinating with TPAs and fiduciary partners to ensure accurate and timely execution of retirement plan services.
  • Provide subject matter expertise related to Form 5500 preparation, review, and filing requirements.
  • Consult on qualified plan compliance matters, including non-discrimination testing such as ADP/ACP, coverage, and top-heavy testing.
  • Assist with correction methodologies for failed testing and operational compliance issues, including refunds, QNECs, recharacterizations, and other corrective actions.
  • Monitor critical filing and compliance deadlines and proactively manage follow-up activities to mitigate risk.

Problem Resolution & Process Improvement
  • Analyze operational challenges and partner concerns to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
  • Identify recurring trends and opportunities to improve processes, documentation, and service delivery practices.
  • Partner with internal teams to implement enhancements that drive operational efficiency and compliance effectiveness.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of partner interactions, issues, escalations, and resolutions.

Knowledge Sharing & Operational Excellence
  • Support the development of training materials, process documentation, and knowledge resources.
  • Share best practices and regulatory updates with internal teams and external partners.
  • Contribute to ongoing initiatives that improve the partner experience and strengthen service delivery models.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

Required Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in retirement plan administration, recordkeeping, TPA support, compliance consulting, or a related Retirement Services role.
  • Strong knowledge of qualified retirement plan administration and ERISA fundamentals.
  • Comprehensive understanding of:
  • Form 5500 filing requirements and regulatory deadlines.
  • Non-discrimination testing methodologies, including ADP/ACP, coverage, and top-heavy testing.
  • Correction methods for compliance and operational failures.
  • Experience partnering directly with TPAs, advisors, plan sponsors, fiduciaries, or retirement plan service providers.
  • Strong client-facing and relationship management capabilities.
  • Ability to explain complex regulatory and compliance concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and deadline-management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • A college degree is great but not required. What's more important is having the skills needed to perform successfully in this role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with common TPA administration systems and compliance platforms.
  • Exposure to operational compliance corrections and IRS/DOL remediation programs.
