DESCRIPTIONSenior Restaurant Management OpportunityFull-Time | $85,000-$100,000+ base annually plus benefits and bonus opportunities
A globally inspired kitchen. A high-energy dining room. A leadership role with endless opportunities to make an impact. The Nautilus Pier 4, a critically acclaimed, independently owned restaurant on the water in Boston's Seaport, is looking for an experienced hospitality professional to join our team and lead our FOH team.
The ideal candidate is an established General Manager looking for a new opportunity or a larger dining room, or an ambitious Assistant General Manager ready to take the next step. Someone who genuinely loves hospitality and leading a team. Someone who is just as comfortable running a bustling dining room as they are developing talented employees, digging into the numbers, and finding smarter ways to get things done. Someone who thrives on the energy of a busy restaurant, isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves, lead by example, or work a late night. Somebody who would be excited to make their mark on one of Boston's best restaurants.
Above all, we're looking for a leader. Someone with presence, energy, accountability, emotional intelligence, situational awareness, and exceptional communication skills. Someone who knows how to motivate, educate, and get the best out of a team while genuinely taking care of the people who make it work, and who understands that great leadership means adapting their management style to the person and the situation, not the other way around. Someone who knows how to balance positive reinforcement and hands-on coaching with clear expectations, honest feedback, and a willingness to have difficult conversations when necessary.
We're looking for a detail-oriented, resourceful self-starter who takes ownership of challenges and knows how to figure things out. Someone who is comfortable navigating unfamiliar situations, finding answers independently, and making sound decisions without needing constant direction. Just as importantly, someone who understands the importance of communication - keeping the right people informed, knowing when to ask for input, and following through until the job is done. Someone who can keep the wheels turning even when the dining room is packed and the night is in full swing.
And of course - we want somebody who genuinely loves hospitality and knows how to throw a really good party. Someone who knows what a dining room needs from the lights to the music, and who understands that great service starts with a great team, takes pride in the details, and can balance high standards with a good sense of humor. We work hard, move fast, take our food and drinks seriously, and firmly believe that having fun should be part of the job.

- Strong leadership instincts, emotional intelligence, and the ability to adapt your approach to different people and situations.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities without losing sight of the big picture.
- A proactive, resourceful, solutions-oriented mindset and a strong sense of ownership over your work.
- The confidence and independence to tackle unfamiliar challenges, find answers, and make decisions, coupled with the judgment to know when to seek input or escalate an issue.
- The ability to work collaboratively with ownership, senior leadership, and fellow managers, and to communicate proactively and effectively throughout a task or project.
- A solid understanding of restaurant financials, labor management, scheduling, and operational performance.
- Strong computer skills and comfort with spreadsheets, reporting, and restaurant technology. Experience with Toast, OpenTable, and Adobe InDesign is a plus.
- Excellent service knowledge, a strong food and beverage foundation, and a curiosity to keep learning.
- The ability to stay cool under pressure, adapt on the fly, and bring positive energy to a busy restaurant.
- A willingness to take initiative, follow through on commitments, and hold yourself to the same standards you expect of your team.
- Openness to feedback, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the maturity to turn constructive criticism into meaningful action.
- The desire to take what we've already built and make it better every day.
