POSITION SUMMARYAs a Senior Recipe Formulation Specialist, your mission is to drive the product recipe lifecycle from new product brief to launch, ensuring compliant formulation, effective recipe management and ingredient specification excellence. You'll make a difference by collaborating closely with operations, quality, manufacturing, product, research and development, regulatory and medical affairs teams across markets and factories. We are looking for someone with strong expertise in compliant recipe design and recipe portfolio management for the infant, toddler, and all-family product portfolios.
In this role, you will be accountable for recipe creation and revisions for innovation and renovation projects, ensuring strict adherence to Nestlé recipe and data standards and timely delivery. You will lead the design of recipes based on a deep understanding of ingredient contributions and interactions, process losses, shelf-life evolution, and manufacturing constraints so that solutions are compliant by design, robust, and fit for intended use throughout the product lifecycle.
Working in close collaboration with Product Developers and cross-functional specialists in Food Safety, Quality, Regulatory, Nutrition, and Manufacturing, you will support sound formulation decisions, facilitate alignment across stakeholders, and guide validation and corrective actions. You will also contribute to category and corporate strategic initiatives related to recipe and ingredient management, providing deep expertise in recipe compliance and enabling efficient, risk-based decision-making.
Additionally, you will champion the effective use of digital tools and systems such as SAP-RM, CAT, DevEX, and reporting solutions to enhance compliance, data quality, workflow efficiency, and end-to-end visibility. You will support continuous improvement of standards, guidelines, and training programs for Product Developers and other stakeholders, while ensuring business continuity in formulation-related activities.
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in food science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Pharmacy, or related discipline. Masters' degree preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience of strong product and process knowledge, with the ability to apply technical expertise across recipe development and manufacturing environments.
- Experience working with regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements across multiple markets.
- Practical experience with continuous improvement methods and structured problem-solving approaches.
- Strong hands-on experience in recipe formulation, compliance, and management of nutritional or food products.
- Using analytical thinking, problem solving and digital tools to manage recipe data, good knowledge of statistical calculations.
- Solid understanding of ingredient contributions, process and shelf-life losses, manufacturing feasibility, and the regulatory environment, with the ability to translate these factors into compliant and robust recipe solutions.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and strong proficiency in relevant systems and digital tools, including SAP-RM and an understanding of DevEX and CAT, together with excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Communicating fluently in English.
