What You'll Do:

The Senior Real Estate Analyst is a key member of the Western Canada Development team, responsible for supporting the end-to-end execution of real estate projects across multiple retail banners.

This role plays a hands-on part in project delivery, including budget management, timeline tracking, financial analysis, and cross-functional coordination. The Analyst works closely with Real Estate/Development Managers to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and aligned with strategic priorities.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with project management discipline and the ability to translate complex inputs into clear, actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Project Support
  • Support the full lifecycle of real estate projects, including new developments, relocations, renewals, and asset optimization initiatives
  • Partner closely with the Development Manager and Real Estate Managers to track project milestones, risks, and key deliverables
  • Ensure alignment across internal stakeholders from deal inception through to project completion

2. Budget Management & Financial Oversight
  • Develop and manage project budgets, including tracking capital spend, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Maintain and update project financials to reflect evolving scope, costs, and assumptions
  • Identify risks and opportunities impacting project budgets and provide recommendations to mitigate gaps
  • Support capital approval processes and ensure consistent financial discipline across projects

3. Schedule & Timeline Management
  • Monitor project timelines and key milestones (e.g., approvals, entitlements, construction start, store opening)
  • Identify potential delays and proactively escalate risks with recommended mitigation strategies
  • Support coordination across Development, Construction, Finance, and external partners to maintain project momentum

4. Site & Deal Analysis Support
  • Analyze site opportunities, lease structures, and deal terms in partnership with Development Managers
  • Provide data-driven insights to support site selection, relocations, and strategic decisions
  • Support preparation of materials for internal approvals and governance processes

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Real Estate/Development Managers on deal structuring, negotiations, and project strategy
  • Partner with Finance, Construction, Legal, and CT REIT teams to align assumptions and execution plans
  • Support coordination with external stakeholders (landlords, brokers, consultants, municipalities) as required

6. Reporting & Process Improvement
  • Develop and maintain project trackers, dashboards, and pipeline reporting tools
  • Provide regular updates on project status, capital deployment, and key risks/opportunities
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, standardize reporting, and enhance data-driven decision-making
  • Own the management and continuous maintenance of precedent and prototype documentation, ensuring all materials are accurate, up to date, and reflective of current standards and practices across the portfolio


What You Bring:
  • 5-8+ years of experience in real estate, development, finance, or project delivery
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (advanced Excel required)
  • Experience managing budgets, tracking timelines, and supporting complex, multi-stakeholder projects
  • Solid understanding of real estate development lifecycle and commercial real estate fundamentals
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment


Location: Quarry Park, Calgary, (Hybrid: In-office 4 days a week)

Broadband Salary Range: $64,000 - $106,000 CAD.
Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements. For critical roles, the compensation offering will be reviewed to ensure alignment with market rate and conditions and the unique value you bring to the role.
