Salary Range: $40-45 per hour (depending on experience) plus benefits and vehicle allowance
Travel: 35% (per diem when traveling)
Hours: Monday - Friday minimum 7 am - 5 pm and weekends as needed.
Position Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Quality Control Technician to join our team in our Gulf Coast Region. The Senior Quality Control Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the application of various coating materials fit the purpose, customer's expectations, and legal compliance required for each project. The Senior QC Technician will follow all procedures necessary to ensure the quality and integrity of our coatings applications by conducting inspections, tests, and evaluations of products throughout the production process. This role is integral to maintaining our reputation for excellence and client satisfaction.
Position Requirements:- 7-10 years minimum experience in the coating's quality inspection field.
- Coatings Inspector Level 2 NACE minimum.
What will make you stand out:- Experience as an applicator prior to working QC is a huge plus.
- Bilingual is a plus but not required.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform visual inspections and quality checks on shop and field project coatings activity.
- Conduct tests and measurements using precision instruments to ensure product specifications are met.
- Identify and document defects or non-conformities and communicate findings to the production team.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection results and testing data.
- Collaborate with production personnel to address and resolve quality issues promptly.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures and ITP's.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.
- Mentorship of new or existing QA personnel
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in quality control or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in quality control or a similar role within an industrial setting is required.
- Proficiency in using measuring and testing equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify defects and deviations from quality standards.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work and communicate clearly with clients and inspectors.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.
- Knowledge of industrial coatings and surface finishing processes.
- Knowledge of intumescent fireproofing coatings processes and inspection.
- Safety-conscious with a commitment to following safety protocols.
