Full Job Description
About the Role
This Senior Quality Specialist role will own Trove's quality data, including the tracking systems, the analysis, and the vendor scorecard that measure how our products and our manufacturers are performing. The output is decisions and recommendations that internal teams and factory partners use. In addition to this, another primary focus will be to lead meaningful improvement of Trove's quality management system. As secondary focuses, this role will contribute to other key quality functions, for example supplier qualification and audits, corrective action plans, cross-functional and partner support, and regulatory support.
Trove's quality specialists are generalists who develop true depth in a few areas while maintaining familiarity with the overall quality system. Each specialist carries named primary focus areas while remaining capable across the rest of the team functions, so that critical areas have both an owner and a backup. This role is expected to bring a dependable core of general quality knowledge to a growing team and to raise the standard of how quality work at Trove.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Data Systems & Vendor Performance
Own Trove's vendor quality scorecard: consolidate inputs from across the quality team, deliver substantive feedback to manufacturing partners, and continue to develop the methodology behind the score.
Own and improve the quality data tracking systems in coordination with the Asia Quality team - ensure they are used consistently and that the data holds up.
Own product performance tracking; analyze trends, identify recurring failure modes, and communicate findings to the teams who can act on them.
Provide quality data and guidance to cross-functional partners, including ordering and allocation, sourcing, and engineering.
Vendor Onboarding, Qualification & Audit Support
Support vendor onboarding and ongoing evaluation in partnership with the Sourcing team, following Trove's vendor qualification process.
Perform or coordinate technical quality evaluations and quality system audits of prospective and existing manufacturing partners with the Asia Quality team, and advise Sourcing on the results.
Quality Management System & Documentation
Conduct a holistic review of Trove's quality management system, identify gaps, and prioritize the improvements that will matter most.
Lead targeted improvement of the system. The goal is a practical QMS suited to a virtual manufacturer.
Create, maintain, and improve SOPs and work instructions across the quality function.
Cross-Functional, Issue Resolution & Regulatory Support
Support Trove's partnership and licensing programs, and customer quality issues raised by sales customers and retail partners.
Support new product launches, ensuring quality expectations and documentation are in place ahead of mass production.
Support investigation and resolution of quality issues with the inspection team, Engineering, and factory partners - establishing root cause, then initiating, tracking, and validating corrective actions in coordination with the Asia Quality and engineering teams.
Support Regulatory compliance initiatives - data collection and tracking, third-party testing, and screening incoming internal regulatory inquiries.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in product quality, supplier quality, or manufacturing quality, including hands-on experience with consumer hard goods.
Demonstrated ownership of quality data: building and maintaining tracking systems, performing trend analysis, and turning findings into feedback that suppliers and internal teams act on.
Advanced Excel skills and comfort working within an ERP or similar business system.
Experience with the working components of a quality management system - SOPs, document control, corrective action, and audits.
Root cause analysis and corrective action experience with contract manufacturers, ideally overseas.
Working familiarity with inspection methodology: sampling plans and AQL, defect classification, and acceptance criteria.
Strong organization and documentation habits; able to build repeatable processes that others will actually follow.
Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and factory partners abroad, and to learn new product categories quickly
Desired Qualifications:
Major role in building out or substantially improving a quality management system.
Experience with soft goods or textile quality, or a clear track record of moving successfully into an unfamiliar product category.
Experience supporting regulatory compliance work for consumer products.
Among the many benefits our team members enjoy are:
Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision care
401k package with employer matching
Paid Time Off
Maternity/Paternity leave
Full indoor basketball/volleyball court
Fully equipped fitness center (cardio, weights, functional fitness area, lockers and showers, etc.)
