Summary:The Sr. Quality Assurance (QA) Manager is responsible for ensuring that all internal and external requirements are met before Mission products reach our customers. The Sr. QA Manager will oversee inspecting procedures and outputs and identify mistakes or non-conformity issues. The Sr. QA Manager is highly meticulous, observant, reliable, and proactive.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Monitor and lead all operations that affect quality
- Supervise and motivate QA Inspectors, Technicians, and other staff
- Ensure manufacturing compliance, and compliance to Mission policies and procedures and customer requirements
- Maintain records of quality reports, statistical reviews, and relevant documentation
- Provide detailed in-process inspections on hardware and establish processes to verify conformance to design requirements
- Correct and prevent compliance non-conformance and drive continuous improvement; assist Engineering in root cause analysis and corrective action
- Communicate and help resolve quality-related issues as they relate to company products and procedures
- Routinely observe technical operations and offer guidance/recommendations
- Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data
- Provide system training and guidance to Mission leadership and departments as needed
Qualifications:- Minimum of 7 years of progressive QA experience
- Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role
- Strong knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards
- Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office software and Windows
- Detail-oriented
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
- Self-motivated with the ability to motivate and lead a team
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Sense of ownership and responsibility
- Ability to work with discretion and confidentiality
Education, Experience and/or Certifications:- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical or college diploma a plus
- Certification of quality control preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of direct experience
- Prior supervisory experience
Language and/or Communication Skills:- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
Mathematical Skills:- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Reasoning Ability:- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
