The QC Laboratory Process Owner/Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of quality control laboratory processes across Valvoline Global Operations. The primary focus of this role is to establish and maintain global standards for laboratory testing, equipment management, documentation, and analytical precision to ensure data consistency across all production locations. In this position you will drive continuous improvement within laboratory environments, manage global laboratory benchmarking programs, ensure audit readiness, and provide functional governance over production laboratory sites.

This role will be onsite Monday - Thursday in Lexington, KY.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Work with stakeholders to develop, implement, and maintain global laboratory quality processes. Ensure alignment with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 17025, IATF) and company policies.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in production laboratories and lead initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Oversee the investigation of fluid quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
    Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of laboratory quality processes, audit findings, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Work closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and other departments to ensure alignment and integration of quality processes
  • Stay current with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Ensure global compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Provide leadership, training, and guidance to regional teams. Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for lab quality. Prepare and present quality reports to senior management.
  • Other responsibilities as outlined by Valvoline as required.


What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Chemistry, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 40%
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management, with a focus on OEM, lab, and plant environments.
  • Deep knowledge of quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 17025, IATF).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional and cross-regional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.


What Will Set You Apart
