Description

Quality is not an accident; it is the result of intelligent direction and leadership. We are looking for someone interested in connecting the dots between Engineering innovation and Quality execution to build stable, scalable processes. This role will focus on serving as the critical liaison that embeds world-class quality into the engineering lifecycle while bridging the gap between engineering design and manufacturing execution through rigorous process discipline.

This person acts as a key support and Liaison between Engineering and Quality. They ensure key projects are supported with quality processes, documentation, training, and work instructions. They also ensure World Class Manufacturing processes for change management, structured communications and continuous improvement are incorporated into the standard work at Sugaright. This position includes but is not limited to:
  • Support quality measurement and validation during implementation of projects.
  • Lead process validation and risk assessments. Support commissioning new equipment and processes with change management, training and communications.
  • Develop or improve the technical quality standards, specifications and policies.
  • Review sanitary design on new projects, and support improvement of sanitary design on current equipment.
  • Support troubleshooting at the plant level (with QAMs) with customer troubleshooting.
  • Support problem solving across all plants, and training personnel and quality teams to problem solve.
  • Support the measurement system and improvement to the measurement system.
  • Support/Coach Focused Improvment Teams
  • Design standard for change management and structured communications.
  • Fill in support for quality manager at plant level if necessary.


Requirements

  • Min 3 years as a quality engineer or manager.
  • Worked in manufacturing, food or beverage (food and beverage preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma, DMAIC or other continuous improvement processes and tools including root cause analysis.
  • Shows competency in data management, statistics and data summaries.
  • Understands how to set up validation studies (design of experiments or other).
  • Not required but preferred; laboratory experience (chemistry or microbiology); lab management or other management of a measurement system;
  • technical writing or other writing experience;
  • ASQ or other quality certifications.
