Full Job Description
If you are a Quality Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in Sidney, Ohio, you will provide quality leadership and technical support for both new and existing products. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional teams, suppliers, manufacturing operations, and customers to drive product quality, process improvements, and effective problem resolution. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the performance and reliability of compressors, electromechanical products, and associated subsystems while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

AS A SENIOR QUALITY ENGINEER YOU WILL:

  • Work on New Product Development programs to ensure products release to program requirements

  • Lead process optimization initiatives to improve quality and operational performance

  • Validate prototype and production processes, methods, gauges, and instrumentation

  • Develop and implement quality plans and control strategies

  • Perform data collection, statistical analysis, and measurement system analysis (MSA)

  • Work with Advanced Manufacturing and Plant Quality to maintain Process Flow Diagrams, Value Stream Maps, PFMEAs, and Control Plans

  • Review and approve PPAP documentation

  • Facilitate structured problem-solving activities using appropriate Copeland methodologies

  • Collaborate with plant quality teams to resolve manufacturing and supplier quality issues

  • Work directly with customers to resolve product and process-related concerns

SCHEDULE:

This role is hybrid eligible with the requirement to be in office four days per week. Colleagues are expected to demonstrate a collaboration first mindset, which is the understanding that teams will work together in-person and colleagues should be flexible to adjust their hybrid days based on business needs. You will have an opportunity to work with your team and leader to determine when you should be in office to drive meaningful connections and to best serve our customers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

  • Bachelor degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Controls, or Electrical Engineering

  • ASQ Certified Green Belt

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in high-volume manufacturing environments

  • Minimum 3 years of Quality Engineering experience

  • Proficiency in GD&T (ASME Y14.5)

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Minitab or similar statistical software, ERP and PLM systems

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS: 

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)

  • Experience with New Product Development and product introduction

  • Strong understanding of APQP and PPAP requirements

  • Knowledge of Tableau, DOMO, or similar analytics platforms

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to adapt to changing priorities, communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, provide direct and constructive feedback, and drive results through initiative, accountability, and execution

  • Proven ability to focus on high-impact activities, influence cross-functional teams, and support business objectives in a fast-paced environment
