LOCATION: This position requires onsite presence at our project site in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. Candidates from anywhere in the United States are encouraged to apply. Per diem is available for eligible traveling employees.
Salary Range: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00
ABOUT THE JOB
The Tepa Companies are seeking a Senior Quality Control Manager to lead the project quality control program for the rehabilitation of wastewater infrastructure in Yellowstone National Park. The Senior Quality Control Manager is responsible for planning and directing the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for processes, materials, and products.
Job Functions:
- Updates and maintains the project submittal log and all other project specific quality control reporting utilizing Construction Contractor Module of RMS, referred to as QCS, to record, maintain, and submit various information throughout the contract period.
- Reviews shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications by direct review and by leveraging the knowledge and experience of others in the project team when necessary.
- Provides written daily QC reports that reinforce work activities are being constructed in conformance with each specific project's established standard and constructively confront non-conformance to produce the requirements that comply with the contract.
- Conducts preparatory, initial, and follow-up meetings to establish an understanding of the standards of care desired for each definable feature of work. Verify that plans, procedures, and the proper document checklists are being used and signed off prior to the definable features of work as described in the submittal register.
- Verifies and documents that all materials received for the project are in conformance with the approved submittal, are handled and stored appropriately and are acceptable for use in the project.
- Conducts the required meetings with the USACE, superintendent, and the foreman responsible for the definable work prior to the start of each new phase of the work. Document these meetings in the daily QC report.
- Performs specified or required tests to verify that control measures are adequate to provide a product which conforms to contract requirements.
- Schedules, documents the results of, and maintains a log of all inspections that are required to conform to the project contract requirements. Clearly document, correct and re-inspect all non-conformances prior to covering up work.
- Works with the project superintendent and maintain the project "as-built" drawings on a daily basis.
- Assembles and forwards project closeout documents.
- Stops work if necessary to resolve matters that affect safety, quality and/or inhibit the logical progress of work
- Assists Project Manager with change order proposal pricing when necessary
- Assists Project Manager with Project Schedules as necessary
- Assists Project Manager with subcontractor selection
- Participates in Cure Process when necessary
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management
- 10+ years of relevant construction experience
- Demonstrated experience managing quality control for substantial rehabilitation or ground-up construction of wastewater treatment plants
- Proven experience establishing and maintaining effective quality control systems in compliance with contract requirements on USACE and other federal projects including field experience providing oversight on construction site work activities
- Previous experience on federal construction projects (USACE, NAVFAC, GSA, VA, NPS, or other federal agencies)
- Working knowledge of construction materials, methods, terminology, phases, documentation, and the tools involved in the construction, repair, or remodeling of structures and sites to assist in quality control management system implementation on a project site
- Strong knowledge of project plans, specifications, shop drawings, samples, and testing to assist in quality control management.
- Proficient with computer software used in the construction industry.
- Current credentials showing the completion of the course "Construction Quality Management for Contractors" offered by USACE.
- OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety & Health training within the last 5 years.
- First aid/CPR certification
- Ability to pass a drug screen and back ground check in compliance with federal regulation
