We are currently seeking a Senior Psychometrician to joing our Patient-Centered Outcomes Assessment (PCOA) team.
What You'll Do
RTI-HS psychometricians serve both a strategic and technical role within interdisciplinary research teams. They provide scientific leadership on the development, evaluation and application of clinical outcome assessments; guide psychometric and outcomes research strategies for clients, including participating in regulatory interactions; and are responsible designing, implementing and interpreting a variety of technical analyses.
You will be expected to:
- Provide strategic scientific leadership on psychometric and outcomes research programs, including study design, endpoint selection, regulatory strategy, interpretation of evidence, and client decision-making.
- Design, oversee, and conduct classical and modern psychometric analyses, interpretation of meaningful within-patient change, and advanced statistical analyses to support the development, evaluation, and regulatory acceptance of clinical outcome assessments
- Accurately analyze, interpret, and clearly communicate psychometric results to clients within specified deadlines
- Produce high-quality psychometric analysis plans, technical reports, and manuscripts
- Lead and contribute to proposals, thought leadership initiatives, methodological innovation, and business development activities that support growth of the PCOA practice.
- Communicate effectively (via email, telephone, and in-person) with clients and team members
What You'll Need
- Master's degree in quantitative psychology, statistics, biostatistics, or related field with at least 10 years of directly related experience, or a PhD and a minimum of 5 years of directly related experience
- Extensive experience independently preparing psychometric analysis plans and reports of clinical outcome assessments for regulatory review
- Demonstrated proficiency in SAS and/or R programming (expertise in both strongly preferred), along with experience using latent variable and psychometric modeling software packages.
- Significant experience related to the psychometric evaluation of outcome measures, including classical psychometric methods (e.g., evaluations of test-retest reliability and internal consistency), exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, and Rasch Measurement and/or Item Response Theory
- Experience implementing hierarchical linear modeling, repeated measures models, mixture models
- Demonstrated ability to work well independently and as team leader
- Excellent analytical and communication skills (both written and oral)
- Experience supporting regulatory submissions and interactions with health authorities related to clinical outcome assessments, endpoint strategies, psychometric evidence, or patient-focused drug development initiatives.

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below. Our pay ranges represent national averages and may vary by location as a geographic differential may be applied to some locations within the United States. Equal Pay Act Minimum/Range
$120,000-$185,000.00
