As a member of this team, you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by: - Managing and serving as the lead Project Manager on major road, highway, transit design transportation projects. - Leading marketing and business development efforts and further expanding our clients and opportunities with west region transportation agencies. - Building teams to match the project needs including selecting internal team members and establishing teaming partnerships with respective industry firms. - Mentoring current staff to enhance our transportation services capabilities. - Assisting in identifying potential new staff to help expand our transportation practice in the greater West market. - Leading the development of scope, schedule and budget for transportation design projects. - Monitoring and controlling projects to ensure financial performance. - Ensuring project deliverables meet quality standards for the firm and the client. - Quality Analysis/Quality Control of key deliverables related to projects managed and assistance on projects managed by others. - Being responsible for adherence to the firm's quality procedures at the project level. - Building teams to match the project needs, including selecting internal team members and establishing teaming partnerships with respective industry firms. Skills & Abilities - Experience working with project management methodology including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, project management software and finance and accounting concepts and practices. - Demonstrates excellent communication skills both verbal and written. - Possesses in-depth knowledge of project goals, drivers, strategies, risks and opportunities. - Good interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and clients. - Ability to interact with many people and process a large volume of requests as necessary. - Excellent personal computer skills including strong knowledge in MS Word and Excel. - Demonstrates strong organizational skills to balance and prioritize work. Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree. - 10 years of related experience. - PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification is required (within 12 months of hire or promotion onto the Approved Project Manager list). - Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. - Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in civil, transportation, or structural engineering - Professional engineering (PE) license. - Previous experience managing roadway, highway, and BRT engineering projects for state, county, and municipal clients (including MoDOT) strongly preferred. - Previous experience assisting with the proposal process and presenting/meeting with state, county, and municipal transportation clients, including MoDOT. - Excellent communication, networking, and team building skills. Amount of Travel Required 10% or less Pay Range Min USD $115,211.00 Pay Range Max USD $201,635.00 Additional Pay Range Information CDM Smith is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
