The Senior Project Manager, Service & Special Projects leads the strategic development, planning, and execution of service work and specialized electrical projects while driving business development initiatives. This role ensures compliance with quality standards, oversees project teams, and serves as a senior leader in client relationship management and operational excellence.
What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through upselling, cross-selling, and prospecting while building strong client relationships as a trusted advisor.
- Develop and execute account strategies to achieve sales targets, present initiatives with risk and financial analysis, and represent the company through networking and industry engagement.
Financial Oversight
- Prepare estimates, proposals, and negotiate contracts while managing project financials, including forecasting, cost control, and profitability.
- Monitor resource utilization, track scope changes, and maintain financial accuracy and transparency across all projects.
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including scope, deliverables, timelines, and resource allocation across multiple projects.
- Lead and coordinate project teams and subcontractors, ensuring alignment with goals, timelines, and company standards.
Quality & Compliance
- Monitor project progress, manage risks, resolve issues, and maintain thorough documentation to keep projects on schedule.
- Implement quality control procedures, conduct inspections, and enforce safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide leadership and mentorship to project managers and team members, fostering a high-performance, safety- and quality-focused culture.
- Build strong client and stakeholder relationships while collaborating with internal teams to ensure successful delivery and client satisfaction.

What You'll Bring
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong ability to complete due diligence and risk assessment on complex service and special projects.
- Impeccable integrity and ethics with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions, and trade practices.
- Excellent communication skills – strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills with the ability to articulate messages persuasively and explain complex information to audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while leading cross-functional teams.
- Ability to mentor and develop junior project management staff.
- Willingness to travel to various construction sites on a frequent basis.
Demonstrated Accomplishments
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software, Procore, Bluebeam, and Accubid/Live Count.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and building strong, lasting customer relationships.
- Extensive experience estimating labor and materials to perform field installations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex service and special projects consistently and effectively to completion, on time, and within budget.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction in commercial and industrial environments.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to stay informed of market trends.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing project teams and driving results.
Education & Experience:
- Extensive experience in electrical project management within service and/or special projects, required.
- Proven experience in sales or business development within the electrical field, required
- Electrical field experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated progression of responsibility in project management roles.
What You'll Get
Working Conditions:
The majority of the time you will work in a typical office environment. Occasionally, you may travel to a construction job site. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching, and shoring, sometimes in a confined space. You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.

Salary Range: $119,000 - $161,000
*Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.*
