About the roleThis role will provide senior project leadership for a multi-year R&D development and commercialization program consisting of five related projects across two manufacturing locations. The role will be accountable for the end-to-end management of all five projects, ensuring strong cross-functional integration from product and technical development through stage-gate approval, marketing alignment, manufacturing readiness, and launch.
The successful candidate will work across R&D, Regulatory, Quality/Food Safety, Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Procurement, Marketing/Commercial, and other stakeholders to translate business, product, and technical requirements into executable project plans. The role will establish and maintain a single source of truth for timelines, risks, issues, decisions, resources, budgetary spend, and key milestones; drive timely escalation and decision making; and ensure MJN project management standards, stage-gate requirements, and documentation expectations are consistently followed throughout execution.
Your responsibilities- Lead end-to-end delivery of five cross-functional product development and commercialization projects, from scope definition through launch, stage-gate approvals, and project closeout.
- Develop and manage integrated project plans, ensuring alignment of timelines, dependencies, milestones, resources, budgets, and commercialization objectives.
- Serve as the single source of truth for project governance, maintaining schedules, risk registers, decision logs, change controls, dashboards, status reports, and stage-gate documentation.
- Partner with R&D, Marketing, Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to translate product requirements into executable development, validation, and launch plans.
- Drive cross-functional decision-making by resolving scope, cost, schedule, regulatory, technical, and operational trade-offs to maintain project momentum and business objectives.
- Lead risk, issue, dependency, resource, and budget management activities, proactively identifying variances and implementing mitigation and escalation strategies.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, quality standards, manufacturing readiness, process validation, supply continuity, and operational preparedness are integrated into all project plans.
- Establish strong project management discipline, governance processes, and stakeholder accountability while supporting successful stage-gate approvals, commercialization, and market launches.
The experience we're looking for- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Science, Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field required; PMP or equivalent project/program management certification preferred.
- 6-8+ years of progressive project/program management experience leading complex, multi-year initiatives and multiple interdependent projects from development through commercialization and launch.
- Proven success managing R&D product development, innovation, and new product commercialization programs, preferably within consumer health, nutrition, FMCG, or other regulated industries.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and align stakeholders across R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Marketing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, and Procurement.
- Strong expertise in project management disciplines, including integrated scheduling, critical path planning, risk management, change control, resource planning, budget management, forecasting, and executive reporting.
- Experience translating product development requirements into manufacturing, supply chain, and operational execution plans to support successful commercialization.
- Working knowledge of regulatory, quality, product launch, and compliance requirements within highly regulated industries such as food, infant nutrition, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or medical devices.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisions, lead multiple projects simultaneously, and drive results in a matrix environment without direct authority; willingness to travel and work primarily from Evansville, IN.

Salary rangeUSD $127,000.00 - $191,000.00
Pay transparencyThe base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
