About Your Role

CMTS is seeking a highly motivated Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale capital construction programs in Los Angeles, CA. This role is responsible for overseeing multiple complex projects, managing project teams including OARs, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with District standards. The Senior Project Manager plays a key leadership role in program delivery, contract administration, dispute resolution, and stakeholder coordination across multiple departments.

Education Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management

OR
• Bachelor's degree with ability to obtain Certified Construction Manager (CCM) within one (1) year

OR
• More than 20 years of Construction or Project Management experience with requirement to obtain CCM within one (1) year

OR
• Possession of a valid Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential

• 12 years of full-time project or construction management experience
• Minimum 5 years managing large programs with individual projects exceeding $50M in construction value
• 5 years of experience in educational facilities, public works, or large commercial construction projects

What You'll Do
• Resolve complex construction-related issues, disputes, and conflicts across multiple projects
• Develop, assign, and monitor performance of OARs and project teams
• Review construction schedules and monitor overall project progress
• Evaluate and assess change orders and their impact on the District
• Assist leadership with bid strategy, contract planning, and procurement processes
• Review bid specifications for feasibility and alignment with project timelines
• Monitor project database metrics related to scheduling, cost control, and performance reporting
• Review and verify applications for payment and manage project financial performance
• Provide leadership across scheduling, cost control, contract administration, dispute resolution, and quality control
• Oversee administration of contracts for architects, engineers, and consultants
• Coordinate with District departments including Environmental Health & Safety, Design, Asset Management, Contract Administration, Inspection, Maintenance & Operations, and local districts
• Review and recommend resolutions for construction-related disputes
• Develop and recommend internal policies and procedures
• Perform additional duties as assigned
