Full Job Description
Available Office Locations: Raleigh, NC, USA
Overview: As a Senior Project Manager within Professional Services at Litera, you will be part of a dynamic team that is passionate about driving innovation in the legal technology space. You will act as the project owner for multiple concurrent projects across the Litera portfolio, holding end-to-end accountability for delivery from kick-off through to handover for law firms and corporate legal teams worldwide. You will organize and coordinate internal teams and external client stakeholders, keeping every workstream on scope, on budget, and on the agreed timeline, while proactively identifying and resolving risks and issues before they affect the client. This is a high-ownership delivery role: you will not line-manage a team, but you will lead projects, influence stakeholders at every level, and set the standard for how Litera delivers.
Key Responsibilities:
End-to-End Project Ownership: Act as the project owner for assigned Litera implementations, taking full accountability for delivery from initiation and planning through execution, go-live, and transition to support. Define scope, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, and success criteria, and hold the project to them.
Multi-Project Portfolio Delivery: Run multiple concurrent projects across the Litera product portfolio, balancing competing priorities, deadlines, and shared resources without loss of momentum or quality on any engagement.
Scope, Budget & Timeline Control: Own the project plan, forecast, and financials. Track effort, burn, and margin against budget; manage change control and variations formally; and deliver within the agreed timeline, escalating trade-offs early and with options.
Proactive Risk & Issue Management: Anticipate problems rather than react to them. Maintain live risk, issue, assumption, and dependency logs, surface emerging concerns early with a recommended course of action, and drive them to closure before they become client-visible.
Internal & External Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate across Professional Services, Product, Engineering, Support, Customer Success, and Sales, and with client project teams, IT, and third-party partners. Run governance forums, steering updates, and status reporting that give every stakeholder a single, accurate view of progress.
Quality of Delivery: Ensure deliverables meet Litera's quality standards and the client's documented requirements before handover. Drive acceptance and sign-off, coordinate testing and training activities, and confirm the client is genuinely ready to adopt at go-live.
Governance, Reporting & Documentation: Apply Litera's project management methodology, templates, and governance consistently. Keep plans, RAID logs, status reports, resource forecasts, and time and cost records current and audit-ready in the PSA and project tooling.
Commercial & Partner Awareness: Support statements of work, professional services quotations, resource plans, and partner coordination. Identify scope creep and additional service opportunities, and work with the commercial team to convert them properly.
Continuous Improvement & Enablement: Capture lessons learned and customer feedback, and feed practical improvements back into delivery methodology, estimation models, and tooling. Mentor less experienced project managers and consultants informally through example and coaching.
Qualifications:
5-7 years of project management experience delivering software or technology implementations, including multi-workstream engagements for external clients.
Proven track record of owning multiple concurrent projects simultaneously, with competing deadlines and shared resources, as the single accountable project owner.
Vendor-side professional services or SaaS delivery experience; legal technology, law firm, or corporate legal department exposure is a strong advantage.
Confident managing scope, budget, forecasting, resource planning, and change control, including reporting on effort, burn, and margin.
Working knowledge of agile, waterfall, and hybrid delivery approaches, and the judgment to apply the right one; PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is a plus but not required.
Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the credibility to hold governance and steering conversations with partner- and executive-level stakeholders.
A genuinely proactive approach to risk: identifying issues early, framing options, and driving resolution rather than escalating problems without solutions.
Hands-on experience with project and PSA tooling such as Jira, Smartsheet, MS Project, Monday.com, or similar, plus confident use of reporting and time-tracking systems.
Experience coordinating diverse, globally distributed teams and third-party partners across multiple time zones.
Self-starting and comfortable with ambiguity, with the ability to pick up a live portfolio quickly and add value from the first weeks in role.
Pay Transparency for Illinois and New Jersey Applicants:
The base salary range for this role is $80,000 to $100,000 USD. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, education, and other relevant qualifications. This role is also eligible to earn commission based on performance.
