The Sr. Project Manager works directly with the Land Development Regional Practice Leader to move plans into action. The role provides nontechnical project-management support, advances strategic and growth initiatives, strengthens coordination across teams, and leads employee-engagement and office-culture efforts in our Mechanicsburg, PA office. This is a manager-level position without direct reports. Leadership is exercised through influence, initiative ownership, and cross-functional coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Initiatives
- Translate goals and ideas into practical plans, milestones, responsibilities, schedules, and measurable outcomes.
- Maintain initiative dashboards or other tracking systems to communicate progress, risks, decisions, and resource needs.
- Convene appropriate team members, coordinate action items, and maintain follow-through.
- Act as the Regional Practice Leader’s designated point person for assigned initiatives.
- Support annual business planning, periodic progress reviews, budgeting coordination, and performance reporting.
- Help maintain visibility across the eight practices regarding workload, milestones, financial trends, contracts, staffing needs, and emerging risks.
- Support implementation of Land Development standards by organizing technical input, documenting decisions, coordinating training, and maintaining momentum.
- Assume greater ownership and leadership of selected initiatives after developing sufficient organizational knowledge and credibility. .
Project-Management Support
- Provide detailed, nontechnical project-management support to Pennsylvania Land Development teams.
- Help Project Managers and technical staff organize project schedules, milestones, responsibilities, client directives, contracts, scope, budgets, and communication.
- Develop consistent project-status reports, communication protocols, action logs, client-update formats, and related tools.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project information and confirm that internal requests and handoffs are clear and complete.
- Assist with meeting preparation, documentation, follow-up, and accountability.
- Support client-capture, relationship-management, and retention plans.
- Help coordinate proposals, RFP responses, presentations, teaming relationships, and other targeted pursuits.
- Identify recurring administrative or coordination burdens that can be simplified, standardized, or automated.
- Document successful tools and processes so they can be applied by other Land Development practices.
- Support projects personally managed by the Regional Practice Leader, including Data Center, Mission Critical, and power-generation assignments.
Growth and Recruiting
- Support Pennsylvania growth and market-expansion initiatives.
- Assist with recruiting key employees in partnership with Talent Acquisition.
- Support the evaluation and integration of acquired firms, while executive leadership retains responsibility for final decisions.
Employee Engagement and Development
- Lead the Mechanicsburg employee-engagement and office-culture program, including recognition, community involvement, and team activities.
- Coordinate onboarding, training, development plans, and succession planning with Practice Leaders and HR.
- Work with corporate communications to highlight projects, employees, client successes, and awards.
Specialized Experience Required:
- Experience in strategic operations, project management, organizational improvement, or executive initiative support.
- Demonstrated ability to translate ideas into executable plans and measurable results.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to build trust and lead through influence without formal authority.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and competing priorities.
- Experience with process improvement, documentation, training, and change implementation.
- Ability to understand financial and operational information.
- Strong judgment, discretion, and follow-through.
Qualifications
Education and/or Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field (AEC Industry) and minimum of 6 years of related professional experience, or 10 years of equivalent professional experience.
- Experience should include a track record of expanding project management duties.
- Proven experience in project management roles, with a focus on managing larger-scale projects or programs.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, with the ability to develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and documentation.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to project management, quality assurance, and safety protocols.
- Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong negotiation skills to manage contracts, scope changes, and stakeholder agreements effectively.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles to effectively manage project budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation.
Education and/or Work Experience Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in related field (AEC Industry)
Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations Required:
- Ability to complete the KCI PM Training and Contract Risk Training along with passing the PM Board within 6 months of start date.
