Full Job Description
As a Senior Project Manager at Choate Construction, you serve as the administrative and strategic leader responsible for the successful delivery of large, highly complex projects or multiple concurrent projects and teams. This role is intended for seasoned construction professionals with at least 15 years of overall construction experience, including a minimum of 10 years as a Project Manager managing projects of increasing scope and complexity, who are ready to lead at the highest operational level. You bring deep expertise in planning, organizing, contract and subcontract administration, schedule and cost control, and quality oversight, often accomplishing this through the leadership and development of Project Managers, Superintendents, and supporting staff. Working closely with your teams, you ensure projects are executed safely, profitably, and to the highest standards, resulting in exceptional client satisfaction. In addition to full accountability for project outcomes, you actively develop, nurture, and expand relationships with clients and designers, with the expectation of generating repeat work and new opportunities through trusted partnerships-making your ability to secure and sustain work a critical component of your long-term growth and advancement within Choate Construction.

YOU COULD BE THE NEXT CHOATE SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER IF...
  • You build and sustain trusted relationships with clients and designers, serving as a primary liaison and ambassador for Choate Construction while actively pursuing repeat and new work opportunities.
  • You represent Choate with credibility and professionalism in every meeting, presentation, and industry engagement, strengthening the firm's reputation and market presence.
  • You are a confident communicator who owners rely on as a true advocate-someone they trust to lead teams, solve problems, and deliver results.
  • You lead safety from the front, ensuring project teams develop, maintain, and enforce Project Specific Safety Plans while responding decisively to evolving risks and jobsite challenges.
  • You bring a deep understanding of contracts and risk, partnering with Division Leadership to negotiate terms, resolve issues quickly, and protect Choate's financial and legal interests.
  • You guide clients through the preconstruction process, aligning stakeholders, shaping logistics and execution strategies, and ensuring deliverables set projects up for long-term success.
  • You lead Project Managers and Superintendents in developing and executing thoughtful construction plans that balance schedule, quality, cost, and commissioning requirements.
  • You cultivate accountability and urgency across multiple project teams, providing technical guidance, mentoring leaders, and mobilizing resources to address issues before they escalate.
  • You oversee financial performance with precision-reviewing budgets, forecasts, pay applications, and change orders to protect both client trust and company profitability.
  • You invest in people as intentionally as projects, mentoring team members, supporting professional development, and building the next generation of Choate leaders.
