Senior Project Engineer (SPE) that is looking for a company where they can learn and grow.
What you'll do: The SPE's primary focus is project coordination. The ideal candidate will proactively overcome project challenges, partnering with internal leadership and external partners-while training and leading Project Engineers (PE). It is expected that those who are promoted to this position have mastered and performed successfully as a PE.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES- Independently manage certain aspects of a project, as determined by Project Manager (PM) or Senior Project Manager (SPM)
- Time spent on project sites coordinating with the superintendent and helping manage trades and work in place
- Facilitate trade coordination onsite
- Develop basic project/breakout schedules
- Train and manage PEs on key tasks such as meeting minutes; RFI review/evaluation; and timely issuance and receipt of workflow processes
- Evaluate and manage RFI and submittal distribution
- Assist assembling prime contract exhibits
- Identify cost and schedule impacts through material tracking log
- Support PM in subcontract creation and administration for MSAs and subcontractor agreements
- Collect all COI requirements; maintain and update COIs throughout project
- Enforce, lead and follow rand* jobsite safety and cleanliness standards
- Review and approve subcontractor invoices with oversight of PM
- Generate basic estimates for change order work and / or small service projects
- Review, vet and compile all costs related to owner change orders for review by PM
- Establish peer relationships with construction managers, architects, building management teams
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client, owner, architect, and project team on service jobs
- Additional duties as assigned
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE- BS in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management is preferred
- Understanding of project management and project sequencing
- Familiarity with field trades duties and responsibilities
- Ability to negotiate with subcontractors
- Effective time management skills
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, building owners, building managers, consultants, architects, and fellow employees
- Knowledge and familiarity with contracts
- Basic understanding of finance principles including job cost, revenue, budgets and cash flow
- Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Procore
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
