The successful candidate will bring strong project engineering experience within the mining, minerals, metals, or heavy industrial sectors, with the ability to manage multiple technical workstreams and resolve complex engineering and project execution issues.
Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate engineering activities for mining and mineral processing projects from conceptual design through commissioning and project closeout.
- Provide technical leadership and coordination across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, process, environmental, and other engineering disciplines.
- Develop and maintain engineering scopes, project specifications, design criteria, engineering deliverables, and technical documentation.
- Review engineering designs, drawings, calculations, specifications, vendor documentation, and technical submittals for compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers to establish engineering schedules, budgets, milestones, and resource requirements.
- Monitor engineering progress and identify potential schedule, cost, technical, and constructability risks.
- Support development and management of project budgets, cost estimates, forecasts, change orders, and cost-control measures.
- Work closely with construction teams to address field engineering issues, RFIs, design changes, technical queries, and constructability concerns.
- Coordinate engineering interfaces between mine infrastructure, material handling systems, processing facilities, utilities, tailings, water management, and associated infrastructure as applicable.
- Manage engineering consultants, contractors, equipment suppliers, and other third-party technical resources.
