A Brief Overview

The Senior Project Controls Specialist leads project controls processes and consults with the project management team to ensure client satisfaction. Presents schedule and budget status reports to project management team and client.

What you will do
  • Validate proper set-up and management of the Enterprise Planning & Controls software.
  • Analyze data, logs, and reports in the Enterprise Planning & Controls software or other tools.
  • Validate proper Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is utilized.
  • Develop effective scheduling & progress reports
  • Develop, implement, and manage the reporting data warehouse to produce valuable program controls reports and data for multiple large projects.
  • Provide leadership and training to team members ensuring the resolution of difficult project control issues.
  • Develop and implement project execution plans.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with existing and potential clients, customers, and contractors.
  • Responsible for engineering, procurement, and construction planning, scheduling,
  • Serve as a point of contact for technical questions from the project team.
  • Review upstream (prime contract) / downstream (purchase orders & subcontract) change orders.
  • Lead the Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM).
  • Lead the presentation of Project Controls reporting.
  • Validate schedule progress.
  • Analyze and evaluate schedule management involving the critical path method of scheduling techniques, estimating, project cost management, forecasting and document control.
  • Perform schedule what-if scenarios.
  • Validate the accuracy of earned value management system reporting.
  • Analyze progress measurement.
  • Analyze progress curves.
  • Facilitate the Risk Management process.
  • Perform quality checks and inspections on project controls deliverables.
  • Perform field audits to validate accuracy of reporting and processes.
  • Perform Project Forensic Analysis.
  • OSHA 10-hour safety certification.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, and 7 years of direct project controls experience required.
  • Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement required.
  • Experience with critical path scheduling, estimating, and document control required.
  • Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred.
  • Ability to facilitate and produce detailed engineering, procurement & construction schedules preferred.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to obtain OSHA 10-hour safety certification.
