Full Job Description

The opportunity:

Harvard Business Publishing (HBP) is seeking a Senior Program Manager, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) to lead and advance our enterprise-wide risk program. This role will play a critical part in strengthening HBP’s ability to anticipate, assess, and manage risks across our global business, while enabling informed decision-making and long-term resilience.

Reporting to the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer, this role serves as a strategic partner to senior leaders and a key contributor to Board-level risk oversight (Audit & Risk Committee). This is a high-impact role suited for a thoughtful, collaborative leader who can translate complex risks into actionable business insights.

What you’ll do

  • Lead Enterprise Risk Management: Drive the evolution of HBP’s ERM framework, including risk identification, signal tracking, assessment, prioritization, and monitoring across the organization.

  • Enable Risk-Informed Decision-Making: Integrate ERM into business planning and financial forecasting processes to support more informed, risk-adjusted decisions across the organization. Work closely with leaders across business units and functions (e.g., Finance, Technology, Legal, Product) to embed risk awareness into strategic planning, forecasting, and operations.

  • Assess Enterprise & Emerging Risks: Evaluate key risks impacting HBP’s strategy and performance, including areas such as AI-driven disruption, cybersecurity, data privacy, regulatory compliance, and global market dynamics.

  • Deliver Executive & Board Reporting: Develop clear, concise risk dashboards and reports for senior leadership and the Audit & Risk Committee, highlighting key insights, trends, and recommendations.

  • Strengthen Risk Culture & Governance: Provide tools, guidance, and training to foster a consistent, risk-aware culture and strengthen enterprise governance practices.

  • Support Resilience & Preparedness: Provide leadership and contribution to crisis management, business continuity, and organizational resilience planning in coordination with cross-functional teams.

What you’ll bring

  • Demonstrated experience building or maturing risk management frameworks/programs in a complex organization

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate risk into business impact

  • Executive presence and experience engaging with senior leadership and/or boards

  • 7+ years of experience in enterprise risk management, compliance, legal or related field

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

You’ll stand out if you have

  • Expertise in emerging risk areas (e.g., AI governance, cybersecurity, data privacy)

  • Experience in media, learning, or global organizations

What we offer:

As a mission-driven global company, Harvard Business Publishing is committed to fostering a culture of inclusion, trust, and engagement where everyone is welcome, valued, respected, and feels they belong. In addition to a competitive compensation and benefits package, we offer meaningful programs focused on career development and employee wellness, such as education reimbursement and early-release Summer Fridays!
