Overview

Position Summary:

The Senior Product Manager, Upstream Hemostasis Reagents, is responsible for developing and executing global portfolio strategies for the company's hemostasis reagent portfolio. This role leads product lifecycle management, commercialization, market development, competitive positioning, and new product development efforts across the portfolio.

Working closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Operations, Technical Services, and Marketing Management, the Senior Product Manager will drive successful product development through to launch, being an integral member of the product core teams to ensure the voice of our customers and regions are well represented. And then preparing the markets, our regions and our customers for a successful product launch including branding, positioning, pricing and messaging. They will also lead a team of experienced product managers to deliver these products to the market on time.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in product management and commercialization and can translate that experience into the development and launch of products that customers want, are willing to pay for and are growth drivers for Werfen.

Key Accountabilities

Essential Functions:
  • Manage the product lifecycle from concept through commercialization, ensuring we bring product to market that our customers desire
  • Contribute to business planning, marketing plans, forecasting, and strategic portfolio reviews.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Operations, Marketing Management and Technical Services to support product development activities.
  • Support key customer engagements, advisory boards, scientific meetings, and industry conferences.
  • Lead global launch planning and execution for new hemostasis reagents.
  • Develop product positioning, value propositions, pricing strategies, and market segmentation plans.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies to inform portfolio and product strategies.
  • Build, lead, and own new product development programs - tracking objectives, and fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and customer focus.

Skills & Capabilities:
  • Strong product and lifecycle management skills.
  • Deep understanding of hemostasis diagnostics, coagulation testing, and laboratory workflows desired.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen with experience driving revenue growth and portfolio performance.
    Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across global cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience & Education:
  • Minimum 7-10 years of product management, product marketing, or commercial leadership experience, the in vitro diagnostics (IVD), clinical diagnostics, or medical device industry preferred.
  • Direct experience managing hemostasis, coagulation, or diagnostic reagent product portfolios strongly preferred.
  • Prior marketing experience is required, including product positioning, launch planning, market development, and portfolio management.
  • Prior sales experience is required, including direct customer-facing responsibility, sales support, account management, or field commercial roles.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with sales organizations to achieve commercial objectives.
  • Experience launching new products and driving adoption in laboratory and hospital markets.
  • Global or international marketing experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Life Sciences, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field required.
  • MBA, Master's degree, or advanced scientific degree preferred.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise in hemostasis testing including PT, aPTT, D-dimer, fibrinogen, thrombophilia, and specialty coagulation assays.
  • Knowledge of laboratory operations, workflow optimization, and diagnostic reimbursement.
  • Experience working with global commercial teams and key opinion leaders.
  • Proven track record of successful product launches and revenue growth.
  • Candidates must possess a breadth of marketing and sales experiences, to enable effective translation of customer needs into product strategy and commercial execution.


Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or marketing discipline, or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in marketing product management positions.
  • Minimum five years of experience in sales and three years in marketing.

Travel Requirements:
  • Approximately 20-30% travel, including customer visits, conferences, and internal meetings.


The annual base salary range for this role is currently $150,000 to $180,000. Individual employee compensation will ultimately depend on factors including education, relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, and particular business needs.

This role is eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k plan retirement benefits with an employer match, as well as paid vacation and sick leave. Our sales roles are eligible for participation in a commission plan and our management, and select professional roles, are eligible for a performance-based bonus.
