Join VultrVultr is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Product Manager to own the Platform product suite - the foundational capabilities, control plane, and developer tools that customers use to provision, manage, automate, and govern their infrastructure. This includes Vultr's REST APIs, Console, CLI, SDKs, Terraform provider, Billing, Account Activity, Audit Logs, Regions, IAM, Sub Accounts, Admin, Instance Templates, Custom Images, Startup Scripts, SSH Keys, and Support Tickets. Together these products form the platform layer that every Vultr customer interacts with and that every infrastructure product depends on to reach customers. The ideal candidate brings deep technical fluency in platform engineering, API design, and developer experience, combined with a strong product instinct for building tools that make infrastructure feel effortless. This is a highly visible role in a high-growth technology company, which will require close partnership with Compute, Network, Storage, Security, and AI teams to ensure every new infrastructure launch is programmable, governed, and intuitive from day one. Key Responsibilities- Own the end-to-end Platform product suite roadmap - covering developer surfaces (REST APIs, Console, CLI, SDKs, Terraform provider, ISOs) and account-level capabilities (Billing, Account Activity, Audit Logs, Regions, IAM, Sub Accounts, Admin, Instance Templates, Custom Images, Startup Scripts, SSH Keys, and Support Tickets)
- Define Vultr's platform and developer experience strategy aligned to infrastructure roadmap, reliability goals, and the needs of both digital-native builders and enterprise customers adopting the cloud
- Drive the customer-facing platform surface across APIs, Console UI, CLI, SDKs - ensuring consistency, completeness, and a coherent experience across all touchpoints
- Own the API as a product - define versioning strategy, deprecation policy, rate limiting, pagination, error handling, and authentication flows that make Vultr's API a first-class developer experience
- Own the Console as a product - drive the web-based control plane experience, working with design and frontend engineering to make complex infrastructure operations intuitive and efficient
- Own the Terraform provider, CLI, and SDKs - ensure our infrastructure-as-code and programmatic tooling stays current with API changes and represents best-in-class developer tooling practices
- Own the account management and governance product surface - Billing, IAM, Sub Accounts, Audit Logs, and Admin tools that give customers control over access, spending, and compliance posture
- Own the operational product surface - Regions, Instance Templates, Custom Images, Startup Scripts, SSH Keys, and Support Tickets that customers use daily to manage and automate their infrastructure at scale
- Work closely with engineering on technical tradeoffs across API design, authentication flows, rate limiting, caching strategies, SDK generation, CLI architecture, and Console frontend performance
- Build products for two customer profiles - digital-native builders who want speed and simplicity, and enterprise adopters who need IAM, audit trails, sub-account governance, and programmatic control
- Ensure new infrastructure and platform launches are API-first and Console-ready by design through strong partnership with compute, network, storage, security, and AI teams
- Define and measure platform health metrics - API availability, latency, error rates, SDK adoption, Console task completion rates, CLI active usage, and developer satisfaction
- Stay current on modern platform engineering trends, including API design patterns, SDK generation, developer portals, infrastructure-as-code, identity and access management, and the evolving state of cloud developer experience
Qualifications- 7+ years of product management experience in cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, infrastructure-as-code, or API products
- Deep understanding of platform engineering - you've designed, shipped, or maintained APIs, CLIs, SDKs, or developer tools at scale
- Experience defining product strategy and roadmaps for platform or developer-facing products at scale
- Experience with cloud account management and governance products - billing, IAM, audit logging, sub-accounts, or equivalent enterprise access control systems
- Strong technical background - ability to engage with engineering on API design, authentication flows, rate limiting, SDK architecture, and frontend performance
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code ecosystems - Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, or similar
- Track record of shipping developer-facing products with measurable impact on adoption, task completion time, or developer satisfaction
- Experience with cloud provider platforms - you've worked on or extensively used AWS, GCP, Azure, DigitalOcean, Linode, or similar. You know what good and bad cloud UX feels like
- Experience with API lifecycle management - versioning, deprecation, backward compatibility, and developer communication
- Experience working across cross-functional teams (engineering, design, marketing, sales) in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Compensation$180,000 - $200,000
Final compensation will vary depending on years of experience, background/skill set, location, and applicable laws.
