About the role:We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to own mobile at 8am. The solo and small firms we serve increasingly run their practices from their phones, and our mobile apps need a dedicated owner. You'll start close to zero: decide what our existing apps should become, find out what professionals truly need on the go, and build a small, AI-native team that ships fast.
Mobile is a core surface for 8am IQ, our AI platform. You'll bring 8am IQ to the phone so a professional can get work done across MyCase, CasePeer, LawPay, and the rest of 8am's products from wherever they are. You'll also make getting paid as simple as a tap, no matter which 8am product a customer uses.
This is a hands-on role. You'll lead a deliberately small team of two engineers. You'll be expected to prototype with AI tools, put those prototypes in front of customers, and come back with evidence, not just documents. You'll join the AI Platforms team, reporting to the VP, Product, AI Platforms.
In your first 30 days, you'll have talked with dozens of customers and audited our current apps. By 90 days, you'll have a mobile strategy and customer-tested prototypes ready for engineering. Within 6 months, you'll have shipped meaningful improvements and set a clear path for what mobile becomes at 8am.
Why you'll love this role- You'll own a product area end to end and shape what mobile becomes at 8am.
- You'll work on a team at the center of 8am's AI strategy, with the tools and freedom to build in an AI-native way.
- You'll ship fast with a small team and see your work reach customers quickly.
What you'll do:- Mobile strategy and discovery
- Own the mobile product strategy across 8am's brands. Decide what to fix, rebuild, consolidate, or retire in our existing apps, and where a new experience earns its place.
- Spend at least four hours a week with customers: interviews, on-site visits, call reviews, and NPS and support data. Turn that signal into a clear picture of what professionals need on the go.
- Define the jobs mobile must do well for solo and small firms, such as getting paid, staying on top of cases and clients, capturing time and documents, and acting on what 8am IQ surfaces.
- Build the business case and success metrics for mobile, tied to retention, payments volume, and continued product activation.
- AI-native building and delivery
- Prototype ideas yourself with AI tools such as Claude, and test them with customers before engineering builds anything.
- Lead a two-engineer squad that works in small scopes, fast cycles, and frequent releases.
- Partner with the AI Platform team to bring 8am IQ to mobile: agents and tools that act across our products, with the permissions and audit trail legal and accounting professionals require.
- Partner with the Payments team to bring mobile payment experiences, such as tap to pay, to customers on any 8am product.
- Own app quality and release health: App Store and Google Play releases, ratings and reviews, crash and performance metrics, and mobile analytics.
- Cross-functional leadership and influence
- Work with Product Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to launch, message, and drive adoption, so what we ship reaches the market.
- Align with the MyCase, CasePeer, LawPay, and Docketwise product teams so mobile reflects each brand's core workflows without duplicating work.
- Share strategy and progress with leadership and the wider company, ideally through live demos.
About you:- 6+ years of product management experience in B2B SaaS, including at least 3 years owning a native iOS/Android or cross-platform mobile app in market.
- A track record of taking a product from 0 to 1, or turning around an underinvested one, with measurable results.
- Hands-on prototyping. You build working prototypes yourself with AI coding tools, design tools, or code, rather than waiting on a designer or engineer to show customers an idea.
- Strong product design sense. You're comfortable doing much of your own UX work, with support from a shared design team.
- Deep customer discovery skills. You talk to customers every week and turn qualitative and quantitative signal into clear decisions.
- Experience shipping AI-powered features, with a practical grasp of LLMs, agents, and evals, including when AI adds value and when it adds complexity.
- Fluency with mobile metrics and tooling: product analytics, crash reporting, App Store and Google Play release management, and experimentation.
- Comfort owning scope end to end on a very small team, with a bias for shipping.
- Based in the U.S. and able to work with customers during U.S. business hours.
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve workflows, enhance decision-making, or drive innovation.
Preferred Qualifications:- Mobile payments experience, such as tap to pay, card-present payments, or digital wallets.
- Experience in legal tech, accounting, fintech, or other regulated, high-trust professional services.
- A background in product design or front-end engineering.
- Experience building agentic or conversational AI experiences on mobile.
- Experience serving small businesses and solo professionals, including product-led growth.
