Want to define how AWS responds when fraud or account compromise is detected? Join the AWS Payments & Fraud Prevention team as a Senior Product Manager - External Services, where you will own the product strategy for real-time fraud enforcement across AWS.
AWS Fraud Prevention uses identity, account activity, payment, and service usage signals in machine learning models and AI systems to detect fraud and account compromise. This role will define how AWS turns those risk assessments into fast, consistent enforcement actions that protect customers and AWS across services and regions. You will own the strategy and roadmap for real-time enforcement, including reusable capabilities, customer safeguards, service adoption, and measures of speed and accuracy.
The ideal candidate has a strong track record of defining and delivering technical products at scale. You understand distributed systems, automated decision-making, and how to balance rapid fraud prevention with the impact on legitimate customers. You can also align teams across AWS around a common product strategy and technical approach.
Key job responsibilities
Real-Time Enforcement Strategy: Own the vision and roadmap for how AWS turns risk assessments into consistent enforcement actions. Define reusable capabilities that help mitigate fraud across all AWS services without building a separate solution for each use case.
Reliable Execution: Define product and technical requirements for enforcement actions that must complete in real-time. Partner with Engineering to ensure enforcement is scalable, observable, and resilient across services and regions.
Policy and Customer Safeguards: Define how the severity and confidence of a risk assessment, customer context, and potential impact determine the appropriate response. Establish requirements for actions, customer communication, auditability, human review when needed, and paths to recovery.
AWS Service Adoption: Expand real-time enforcement across AWS compute, AI, Marketplace, and emerging products. Identify coverage gaps, prioritize integrations, and make enforcement readiness part of product launch planning.
Measurement and Improvement:Track time to action, execution success, automation coverage, false positives, customer recovery, and prevented fraud loss.
Cross-Functional Leadership:Partner with AWS service teams, Identity, Security, Customer Service, Engineering, Science, Legal, and product leaders. Align teams on priorities, resolve trade-offs between fraud prevention and customer experience, and represent the domain in executive reviews.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of technical product management with internet business experience
- Experience in taking a product from conception & definition phase through engineering design and taking it to market
- Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience using AI tools to accelerate product development, research, and decision-making
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with engineering and technical teams to build automated solutions
- Experience in fraud prevention, trust and safety, security operations, or account-risk products
- Experience with cloud services, resource management, account security, or access controls
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
