Amazon Route 53 in AWS Infra Services (AIS) is a highly available and scalable cloud Domain Name System (DNS) service for all of Amazon, powering AWS services such as EC2, S3, ELB, RDS, CloudFront, and Lambda as well as other Amazon properties such as www.amazon.com. In addition to these large and fast-growing businesses, hundreds of thousands of AWS customers rely on Route 53 for DNS management, Recursive DNS and DNS Filtering. The Route 53 services are powered by purpose-built software developed from the grounds-up at Amazon to meet the unique functionality, unprecedented scale and high availability requirements that our customers demand. The services already support some of the largest workloads in the world, and we are constantly scaling and improving it to keep up with our ongoing rapid growth. Route 53 is not just foundational for AWS services and AWS customers but is also a significant, standalone revenue generating business within AWS.

The Route 53 team is seeking a talented, self-directed Senior Product Manager to drive key areas of our strategy and vision for Route 53. In this role, you will define, execute, and deliver a product roadmap that adds great value to our internal and external customers. This role is inherently cross-functional - you will work closely with customers (direct interactions), the engineering team, solution architects, design, sales, finance and executive teams. You will advocate for our customers and help us build the future of DNS services including Private and Public DNS. In this role, you will come up with your own long term vision that includes future roadmap for existing revenue generating products, writing working backwards documents for new products, handle pricing, go-to-market and expansion activities, in other words, are responsible for the entire product lifecycle for some critical AWS products.

In this role, you will join a diverse team of Product Managers, UX designers, solution architects, software, hardware, and network engineers. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Key job responsibilities
• Define product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for external network services
• Drive cross-functional execution with engineering, sales, marketing, and support teams
• Own business outcomes including revenue growth, customer adoption, and market positioning
• Engage with enterprise customers and partners to understand requirements and validate solutions
• Make high-judgment trade-offs between features, technical debt, and time-to-market
• Manage P&L responsibility and drive operational excellence

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of working as a Technical Product Manager experience

- 3+ years of product management in the cloud computing technology space experience

- 3+ years of P&L management and pricing experience

- 5+ years of creating written docs for development of new products experience

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, finance, or economics

- Experience in taking a product from conception & definition phase through engineering design and taking it to market

- Experience delivering large-scale SaaS, PaaS or LaaS products where you are responsible for the full product lifecycle, from concept through GTM (go to market)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working within teams delivering software products and features using agile methodologies

- Master's degree

- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

- 5+ years of cloud based solution (AWS or equivalent), system, network and operating system experience, or Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, computer science, data science, engineering, or other related field
