Role Overview We are looking to hire a Senior Product Manager to be a hands-on leader of our Core Platform team. The team owns the shared platform every other product team at CAIS builds on: including identity and access management (IAM), learning management, the homepage, and our public website. In identity, that means enterprise authentication, the tools clients use to manage their firms, users, and permissions, and the regulatory workflows that keep our user base accurate, secure, and auditable. This is foundational, high-leverage product work. When the platform is healthy, every product team moves faster.
You will set product direction for a small, high-surface-area crew, working in close partnership with engineering leadership to sequence our backlog against capacity. You will also serve as the connective tissue between Core and the many squads that depend on its services - Capital Markets, Funds, Marketing, Sales, and Data among them - making clear calls on where a shared mechanism ends and a consuming team's own implementation begins. AI is central to how we work and what we build. We expect this person to experiment with and use AI tools every day to drive product outcomes, from research and requirements to prioritization and measuring results.
Key Responsibilities - Own product direction for Core Platform: IAM, Access Manager, firm/user/role/team administration, enterprise authentication (SSO, MFA), content & learning management systems, and the shared frameworks and services other squads depend on.
- Drive platform modernization: self-service firm administration, bulk user management, new ways of handling user authentication in the age of AI, and other client needs - updating one of the platform's most-used interfaces.
- Own the enterprise authentication roadmap: reliable firm-context resolution for multi-firm and dually-registered advisors, SSO migrations, and login/session experience.
- Partner with Compliance and Legal on identity-integrity and regulatory workflows.
- Set direction for CAIS IQ platform modernization (the firm's learning/compliance education product).
- Evaluate emerging initiatives and bring leadership a clear, evidence-based build/no-build recommendation.
- Bring hands-on, consistent product engagement to the crew's day-to-day: standard organization practices, backlog refinement, and prioritization. This is a hands-on role; the PM's presence and judgment set the team's direction day-to-day, not just at the roadmap level.
- Represent the team's priorities in cross-functional planning, translating infrastructure trade-offs into business-impact language for non-technical stakeholders.
- Partner with engineering leadership on resourcing and sequencing decisions given a rapidly growing business.
Skills & Experience Required - Demonstrated product management experience, including leading platform or infrastructure product areas (not solely client-facing features), ideally within fintech or another regulated B2B environment.
- Experience leading day-to-day product delivery with engineering teams, including backlog refinement, planning, and release coordination.
- Understanding of compliance-adjacent product work - identity verification, regulatory identifiers, sanctions/KYC-style screening, or audit trail requirements - in a regulated industry.
- Proven ability to operate as a platform PM: defining clear ownership boundaries between a shared-services team and the crews that consume its services, and holding that line with engineering peers.
- Strong stakeholder management skills: able to translate infrastructure and platform work into business-impact language for executive, non-technical audiences while remaining technically credible with engineering counterparts.
Highly Advantageous Skills - Hands-on experience with Auth0 or a comparable identity provider.
- Experience with identity and access management concepts: authentication (SSO/SAML/OAuth), authorization and permissions models, and multi-tenant firm/user/role hierarchies.
- Familiarity with Team Topologies or other platform/shared-services team operating models.
- Experience in wealth management, alternative investments, or broader capital markets technology.
- Exposure to learning management systems or compliance education platforms.
