A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you will play a key role in securing a resilient, cost-effective supply chain for complex machined parts. You will own the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, from supplier selection and negotiation through order execution and performance management, ensuring on-time delivery, quality compliance, and cost optimization.

In this role, you will act as the primary interface between internal stakeholders and external suppliers, proactively identifying and mitigating supply chain risks. You will monitor supplier performance, support quality issue resolution, and contribute to target costing and digital procurement initiatives. Success requires strong technical understanding, strategic sourcing expertise, and the ability to influence across a manufacturing-driven organization.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Lead supplier selection, contract negotiation, and purchase order execution for complex machined parts, ensuring alignment with cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Coordinate the daily activities and performance of a team of four buyers to ensure operational efficiency and effective workload distribution.
  • Act as the primary interface between internal stakeholders and suppliers, ensuring clear communication, issue resolution, and alignment across the supply chain.
  • Identify supply chain risks, performance gaps, and process inefficiencies, implementing mitigation and continuous improvement actions.
  • Monitor supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance and drive corrective action plans in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Support resolution of supplier non-conformance issues in close partnership with Quality Management to ensure compliance with technical and quality standards.
  • Contribute to target costing initiatives and the adoption of digital procurement tools to improve efficiency, transparency, and procurement performance.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic procurement, sourcing, or supplier management within a manufacturing or technical environment, preferably supporting machined or engineered components.
  • 2+ years of experience managing a team of strategic buyers.
  • Strong experience in strategic sourcing and supplier management within a manufacturing or technical environment, with knowledge of machined parts and procurement best practices.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and risk mitigation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a complex supply chain.
  • Effective communicator and collaborator with hands-on experience using SAP and digital procurement tools to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
  • This position will require an export license from the Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. Issuance of any required license is a prerequisite for this position. The candidate must be able to work with export-controlled technology in accordance with US export control law.
