Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and people-focused Senior Manager, Data Privacy to join our growing team. This fully remote role blends leadership, subject matter expertise, and client engagement, offering the opportunity to shape not just privacy strategies for our clients-but also the culture and direction of our internal team.

You'll lead and mentor a high-performing team of privacy professionals, fostering a collaborative environment where knowledge-sharing, continuous learning, and professional development are core to how we work. As a Senior Manager, you'll balance project oversight and client strategy with team coaching, career development, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of complex privacy consulting engagements from end to end, ensuring a high-quality experience for both clients and team members.
  • Manage and mentor a team of consultants and senior consultants, providing regular feedback, coaching, and development opportunities aligned with their goals.
  • Cultivate a strong, values-driven team culture focused on collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and psychological safety.
  • Serve as a cultural ambassador at Zaviant-promoting transparency, inclusion, and a shared sense of purpose across the team.
  • Collaborate with leadership to shape team norms, support hiring and onboarding, and ensure resourcing aligns with both team well-being and business demand.
  • Guide client privacy initiatives across domains such as GDPR, CPRA, HIPAA, GLBA, and other emerging regulatory frameworks.
  • Lead privacy program design, maturity assessments, remediation planning, and the operationalization of privacy strategies.
  • Support privacy tech enablement-especially using tools like OneTrust-from selection and configuration to ongoing optimization.
  • Conduct and oversee key privacy tasks such as DPIAs, data mapping, policy development, and training rollouts.
  • Partner with business development to identify new opportunities, support proposals, and expand relationships through thoughtful solution design and delivery.
  • Stay current on privacy regulations, industry best practices, and emerging technologies-and ensure the team is enabled and informed.

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in privacy, data protection, or compliance, with at least 5 years in a leadership or consulting role.
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing, mission-aligned teams.
  • Deep knowledge of global privacy regulations (GDPR, CPRA, VCDPA, CTCPA, HIPAA, GLBA, etc.).
  • Extensive experience delivering privacy program assessments, frameworks, and implementations across industries.
  • Hands-on experience with privacy technology platforms (especially OneTrust).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to lead with empathy and inspire trust across levels.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and finding creative, scalable solutions that serve both client and team needs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Business, Legal, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • IAPP Certifications required (CIPP/US or CIPP/E); CIPM or CIPT a strong plus.
