Working from high-level direction, this leader will independently drive pursuits, manage multiple concurrent opportunities, and deliver thoughtful, detailed, and competitive solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the in-house expert for industrial and manufacturing projects, supporting design-build and preconstruction efforts from concept through GMP.
  • Lead conceptual estimating efforts (the majority of industrial pursuits), developing detailed, assumption-based pricing models aligned with client goals and incomplete design information.
  • Develop high-level and detailed pricing for industrial scopes and thoroughly evaluate subcontractor proposals.
  • Lead and manage multiple concurrent pursuits and preconstruction efforts in a fast-paced environment.
  • Partner with business development and leadership to understand client needs and build strong, lasting relationships.
  • Participate in client presentations, interviews, and preconstruction deliverable reviews.
  • Support overall project strategy development in collaboration with leadership; independently execute estimating and preconstruction deliverables aligned with that strategy.
  • Develop and maintain strong subcontractor relationships within industrial and manufacturing trades.
  • Execute subcontracting strategies, including diversity and geographic considerations.
  • Support buyout activities, including authoring detailed scopes of work for industrial trades.
  • Perform constructability reviews based on real-world construction practices, sequencing, and field-informed insights.
  • Drive creative problem solving to develop efficient, cost-effective, and innovative solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Contribute to estimating processes and continuous improvement initiatives, while learning and applying PARIC standards and methodologies.
  • Build strong relationships across internal teams, clients, architects, engineers, and trade partners.
  • Communicate risks, gaps, and uncertainties clearly and proactively to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Mentor team members and share industrial knowledge to strengthen overall team capability.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 10-15+ years of preconstruction/estimating experience, with a strong emphasis on industrial and manufacturing projects.
  • Proven experience in design-build delivery, specifically within industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with:
    • Manufacturing facilities (including core and shell and process-related construction)
    • Ground-up construction and facility expansions
  • Strong expertise in conceptual estimating, including the ability to build detailed estimates from incomplete design information.
  • Deep understanding of industrial building systems, construction methods, and cost drivers.
  • Ability to think critically, retain complex information, and apply lessons learned to future pursuits.
  • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to confidently define assumptions and develop pricing logic in early project stages.
  • Strong client-facing presence with the ability to build trust and communicate effectively.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple high-value pursuits simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ownership mentality, taking pride in work quality and outcomes.
