Job DescriptionQuadratic 3D is seeking a Ph.D. polymer chemist to design, synthesize and characterize innovative oligomeric/polymeric, photopolymerizable 3D printing resins in a fast-paced startup environment. Candidates getting consideration will have strong fundamentals in interdisciplinary polymer chemistry with particular expertise in synthesis, formulation and characterization of novel polymers; will produce innovative solutions to complex problems; will be self-motivated and document/analyze data methodically; and will have good communication and presentation skills and work collaboratively in a team environment. Responsibilities include:
- Develop, formulate and test photopolymerizable 3D printing resins and characterize their properties.
- Collaborate and interface with team employing resins in novel 3D printing conditions
- Independently conceive and execute projects
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead projects with manageable risks and resource requirements
- Ensure compliance with EH&S requirements and promote safety in the work environment.
Qualifications- Fundamental understanding of synthesis, chemical and mechanical properties of polymeric materials is essential.
- Understanding of the structure-property relationship of various polymers to change formulations/polymer system and ability to manipulate the polymers to suit the requirements of desired physical, chemical and mechanical properties is required.
- Experience with 3D printing, excitonics and/or quantum dots is preferred.
- Ph.D. in Polymer, Chemistry, Materials Science or Chemical Engineering degree with 3 to 10 years of relevant experience.
- One or two years of postdoc experience is helpful.
