Senior Plumbing Mechanical EngineerThe OpportunityAs a Senior Engineer at SHP, you will lead the full engineering design process for both new construction and renovation projects. You will set technical direction, manage multidisciplinary coordination, oversee staff, and serve as the primary engineering liaison to clients and project partners.
You'll apply deep technical expertise to create efficient, reliable plumbing systems and help shape firmwide engineering standards while mentoring the next generation of talent.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee full plumbing engineering design on multiple projects
- Provide a high level of technical leadership, quality review, and problem-solving
- Design and evaluate domestic water, sanitary, storm, natural gas, and specialty plumbing systems
- Represent SHP with clients, contractors, architects, and consultants
- Prepare and oversee reports, specifications, and final engineering deliverables
- Establish project budgets, schedules, and staffing plans; ensure projects meet goals
- Supervise and mentor engineering staff; support development of team capabilities
- Contribute to business development, proposals, and strategic planning
Key RequirementsEducation & Credentials- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 8-10+ years of A/E consulting experience
- PE licensure required
- LEED accreditation preferred
Skills & Experience- Expert-level proficiency in plumbing system design and Revit workflows
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Proven ability to manage people, processes, and multiple project deadlines
- Advanced capability in solving complex technical and design challenges
- Collaborative mindset with strong multidisciplinary coordination skills
