OverviewUnder the direction of the Payroll Manager, this position is responsible for processing and administering payroll and benefits. This person may take on complex problem-solving. This person will act as primary backup to the Payroll Manager and is expected to develop strong relationships with Human Resources and General accounting team staff. Individuals with expereince processing both United States (mulit-state) and Canada payroll will be highly considered. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus.
ResponsibilitiesKey Accountabilities Essential Functions:
- Administers and maintains employee payroll records using ADP software
- Creates custom reports in ADP as needed
- Handles garnishments and employment verifications
- Prepares monthly reconciliations
- Researches, analyzes and resolves complex matters requiring comprehensive knowledge of payroll policies and procedures
- Handles or assists with external audits
- Audits time cards, prepares data, and processes bi-weekly payroll; verifies for accuracy
- Administers attendance records through various systems
- Processes terminations including insurance adjustments, vacation payouts and any advance payments or tuition reimbursement calculations
- Acts as team leader and assists with training of Payroll Specialist(s)
- Maintains petty cash, including replenishment, attending window and record keeping
- Coordinates with HR on employee maintenance and benefits
- End of year special reporting as needed
Secondary Functions:
- Trains any new members
- Acts as back-up for payroll manager as needed

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position: - Education: Associates degree highly desirable
- Experience:
- Three to five years of recent multistate payroll experience utilizing ADP Workforce
- Experience with SAP or similar application preferred
- Additional Skills/Knowledge :
- Working Knowledge of payroll principles, practices, regulations and procedures
- Knowledge of basic accounting practices and procedures
- Language: Fluency in English required
Travel requirements: Up to 5% of time
The annual base salary range for this role is currently $90,000 to $110,000 range. Individual employee compensation will ultimately depend on factors including education, relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, and particular business needs.
