Full Job Description
The Senior Paralegal - Real Estate is a valued member of our preeminent Real Estate practice who will focus on title and survey review along with servicing a wide range of transactions and supporting real estate lawyers across our firm.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of title and survey work, be known for proactively completing tasks and following through with the speedy resolution of issues with minimal supervision and demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines under very tight time constraints and other demands. This position partners closely with attorneys and transaction parties to coordinate due diligence, facilitate closings, resolve title and survey issues, and ensure the successful execution of transactions within demanding timelines, at times, will require working outside of typical business-day hours in order to meet transaction closing requirements.

This is a billable position requiring accurate and timely submission of matter-attributable billable hours, and there is a billing requirement for this role of at least 1,650 hours per evaluation period. For purposes of supervision and reporting, the position will receive day-to-day work direction and oversight from the Real Estate partners. Administratively, the position will report to the Director of Practice Support.

The position's primary responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate real estate finance (mortgage and mezzanine loan) closings.

  • Assemble and distribute transaction documents.
  • Deliver closing documents to title companies for recording.
  • Assemble and distribute closing sets.
  • Handle custodial deliveries and attention to client post-closing protocols.
  • Meet the minimum requirement of 1,650 annual billable hours.
  • All members of the firm are encouraged to participate in our firm's Global Responsible Business program.
  • Work on other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED SKILLS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICAITONS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • At least five (5) years of relevant professional experience, preferably from a large law firm or title company environment.
  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience performing diligence directly.


HOURS

The core hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET, including one hour for lunch, with the willingness and ability to work additional hours as needed.

In New York, the expected base salary range for this role is $119,270 - $136,640 per year.

This range reflects a good-faith estimate of pay at the time of posting; the actual compensation offered may vary depending on factors such as the candidate's qualifications. This position is eligible for additional forms of compensation, which may include annual discretionary bonuses. Employees in this role are also eligible for benefits offered by the firm, subject to applicable plan terms and conditions, which currently include medical, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k) retirement plan; and paid time off.
