Senior Packaging TechnicianThe Senior Packaging Technician is responsible for make-ready, setup, operation, and monitoring of filling, packaging, labeling, and coding systems. This includes automatic filling lines, labelers, packet machines, feeders, and coding systems. The role also trains fellow technicians and helps keep output safe, efficient, and high quality across all production areas.

ResponsibilitiesMake-Ready and Line Setup- Perform complete setup and changeovers on filling, labeling, and coding equipment.
- Install tooling, adjust guides and nozzles, mount film and label rolls, configure print files, and set sensor positions.
- Conduct line clearance and verify that all components match batch documentation.
- Complete startup checklists and [authorize the line for production / hand the line to QA for release].
Automatic Filling Lines- Operate and monitor filling, capping, and in-line labeling modules.
- Make mechanical and electronic adjustments to maintain speed and product quality.
- Respond quickly to alarms and error codes, clear line stoppages, and escalate larger issues.
- Log production data, including output, downtime, and machine settings.
- Coordinate with maintenance when technical issues exceed the operator's scope.
Semi-Automatic Filling Lines- Prepare equipment for specialty formats and small-batch production.
- Adjust nozzles, fill levels, gating, and indexing systems.
- Supervise manual operators to maintain accuracy and consistency.
Labeling Equipment- Set up label rolls, calibrate sensors, and adjust label position.
- Maintain label placement accuracy and resolve jams and skew.
- Configure size changeovers, wrap systems, and touchscreen settings for product-specific parameters.
- Confirm that product codes, batch numbers, and label formats are correct.
Packet Machines- Set up forming tools, sealing jaws, cutting assemblies, and film rolls.
- Monitor seal integrity, film registration, fill weight, and pouch quality.
- Troubleshoot sealing, feeding, and misalignment issues.
Coding Equipment- Load and edit batch, expiry, and lot codes.
- Configure messages, Data Matrix codes, and barcodes.
- Adjust print positioning, timing, sensor timing, print distance, and resolution.
- Keep printheads clean and manage ink and solvent levels.
- Make sure coding on every product is clear and compliant.
Training and Crew Support- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and make sure the crew follows SOPs and safety protocols.
- Train technicians on machine operation, changeovers, quality checks, and troubleshooting.
- Support continuous improvement, cross-training, and team development.
Quality and Compliance- Perform routine checks for fill volume, torque, seal integrity, labeling accuracy, and print clarity.
- Maintain compliance with GMP, SOPs, batch documentation, and audit requirements.
- Report deviations promptly and support root-cause investigations.
Safety and Basic Maintenance- Perform minor preventive maintenance, including lubrication, cleaning, and minor part replacement.
- Follow lockout/tagout and other equipment safety procedures.
- Escalate complex mechanical or electrical issues and keep the work area safe for the crew.
- Take part in safety audits and improvement initiatives.
RequirementsRequired- 7 years of experience operating multi-equipment packaging or filling lines.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, including changeovers and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of GMP, quality checks, and production documentation.
- Experience supervising, training, or coordinating technical staff.
- Clear communication and good organizational skills.
Preferred- Background in fragrance, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or FMCG manufacturing.
- Technical training in mechanical, electrical, or mechatronics fields.

The pay range for this role is:
