The Senior Oracle Database Engineer will serve as a hands-on technical expert focused on Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development, production support, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and data integration support across complex enterprise environments. The Senior Oracle Database Engineer role is a long term open ended contract opportunity and requires you to work onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD. TS/SCI with FS Poly is Required.
Responsibilities of the Senior Oracle Database Engineer:
• Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code, including packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and database interfaces.
• Debug production issues, perform root cause analysis, and resolve data-processing, integration, and application-support challenges across Oracle, Apache NiFi, AWS services, APIs, and file-based data feeds.
• Create ad hoc queries and scripts for reporting, reconciliation, data validation, investigations, and operational support activities.
• Support application releases, database deployments, performance tuning initiatives, and ongoing production operations while partnering with database and infrastructure teams.
• Document technical solutions, deployment processes, troubleshooting procedures, and operational runbooks to support enterprise environments.
Requirements of the Senior Oracle Database Engineer:
• 10+ years of experience developing and supporting enterprise solutions utilizing Oracle Database technologies.
• Advanced expertise with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including packages, procedures, functions, triggers, dynamic SQL, collections, bulk processing, exception handling, and database APIs.
• Strong experience troubleshooting complex Oracle database applications, performance issues, batch processing environments, ETL workflows, and production incidents.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle performance and diagnostic tools including AWR, ASH, ADDM, SQL Trace, TKPROF, and Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control.
• Experience supporting data integrations utilizing Apache NiFi, AWS services, APIs, file-based transfers, and enterprise application ecosystems.
• Working knowledge of Oracle RAC, RMAN backup and recovery, Oracle Data Guard, database security, auditing, schema management, and release management processes.
• Active CompTIA Security+ certification and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience with Oracle Exadata, Database Vault, Oracle Label Security, and large-scale data migration initiatives is highly preferred.
• TS/SCI with FSP required.
Compensation for the Senior Oracle Database Engineer:
• $130,000 - $230,000
