Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution
7 - 10+ years of MEP design experience
Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant design software
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
Strong technical acumen and knowledge of building codes

Responsibilities
Lead projects independently with minimal oversight
Analyze project requirements and collaborate to define scope, budget, and staffing
Draft mechanical design scope of work based on initial client consultations
Conduct engineering studies and develop schematic designs for new systems
Evaluate existing systems for operational efficiency
Engage with code officials regarding compliance and exceptions
Supervise project design team and review their output
Monitor project progress and inform Project Manager of scope changes
Review contractor payment applications
Facilitate project document preparation and coordination with external professionals

Handles projects from start to finish 100% with little to no oversight. Senior Engineers tackle our most complex projects. Provides oversight, mentorship, guidance and training to others.
Job Summary
Solve complex technical issues on projects
Asses the requirements of a project, break a project into tasks, and work with a Project Manager to determine the scope of work, budget, and staffing
Write scope of work for mechanical design based on preliminary review and meetings with the client
Prepare engineering studies and schematic design for new systems
Analyze operation of existing systems
Based on knowledge of applicable building codes, work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes is required
Assign and review work of project design team
Check progress of work and alert Project Manager to change of scope or additional services
Review contractor application for payments
Coordinate all aspects of project document completion within company and externally with clients and other design professionals
Prepare or review construction budgets based on experience and scope of project
Supervise staff on multiple projects, provide assertive management, technical leadership and support to team members, verify that all work is completed as planned and scheduled in compliance with client, and company quality assurance practices
