Are you a senior mechanical building services professional who loves solving the puzzle of complex MEP systems and leading projects from start to finish? Thompson & Litton is seeking a self-motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer - Building Services to join our multidisciplinary team. Whether you are driving high-efficiency HVAC load strategy, overseeing life safety fire protection design, or mentoring the next generation of engineers, you'll play a key role in delivering complete building services solutions across commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.

The Role: From Concept to CompletionAs a senior member of our Building Services engineering team, you will lead the full scope of design and project delivery for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. You will:
  • Design and Lead: Drive the production of comprehensive mechanical building services packages, including advanced HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection plans.
  • Analyze and Optimize: Oversee critical calculations for HVAC loads, energy usage, and life-cycle costs to deliver sustainable, high-performance building solutions.
  • Collaborate in the Field: Lead site visits for renovations and additions, gathering the 'ground-truth' data needed for seamless building systems integration.
  • Guide Project Delivery: Author and review technical specifications, engineering reports, and building system condition assessments.
  • Support Construction & Quality: Direct construction-phase administration, managing RFIs, submittal reviews, and field assessments for mechanical systems while ensuring high-quality execution.
  • Mentor & Guide: Share expertise with junior and mid-level engineering staff to support their technical growth and career development.

What You Bring
  • Experience: 6+ years of progressive experience in building services design (specifically HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection) within commercial, industrial, or institutional sectors.
  • Licensure & Education: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required (or ability to obtain via reciprocity within 6 months of hire).
  • Technical Software: Proficiency in-or demonstrated leadership using-AutoCAD, Revit, and HAP (Carrier) or equivalent building performance simulation software.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep working knowledge of mechanical and building codes and standards (including ICC, ASHRAE, and NFPA).
  • Project Leadership: A proven track record of delivering complex building services projects on time and on budget while serving as a key liaison for clients and multidisciplinary teams.
